Jannik Sinner’s campaign at the 2026 Italian Open has been buoyed by the support of his loved ones in the stands. While his parents have been cheering him on from the start, his girlfriend, Danish model Laila Hasanovic, and his brother, Mark, have also made their presence felt at the Foro Italico in Rome as the tournament reaches its conclusion.
Laila Hasanovic Shows Support for Jannik Sinner at the Italian Open
With a chance to make history by completing the Career Golden Masters, Sinner has been relentless in his campaign to win his maiden Italian Open title. Just two victories away from joining an exclusive club alongside Novak Djokovic, the world No. 1 has had his family rallying behind him in Rome.
While the 24-year-old’s girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, has been missing from his player’s box, she arrived in time for his high-stakes semifinal battle. Ahead of the match, Hasanovic was spotted warmly reuniting with Sinner’s parents and embracing his brother, Mark. The model had also joined his family to witness his triumph at the Monte-Carlo Masters last month.

Hasanovic sat with Sinner’s brother as he faced his first major test of the ATP Masters 1000 event against Daniil Medvedev. The Italian looked in complete control while clinching the opening set, but he soon dropped his first set of the tournament while visibly struggling to catch his breath in the second. In the decider, he was also forced to take a medical timeout for treatment on his right knee.

As the tension mounted, the 24-year-old’s mother, Siglinde, left the stadium amid his struggles. Meanwhile, Hasanovic remained courtside throughout while making a heartwarming gesture by sporting a Nike cap emblazoned with Sinner’s signature fox logo.

Hasanovic is expected to be back in the stands to support the world No. 1 on Saturday, May 16, when the rain-hit semifinal clash resumes with Sinner leading 6-2, 5-7, 4-2.
Sinner has been open about how much it means to have his loved ones backing him in Rome, previously expressing delight at seeing his parents in the stands at the Italian Open.
“It’s very nice, I don’t see them as much as maybe other players do at times. So, I’m very happy to share these moments with them. They’re wonderful parents. Sometimes, even during matches I like to look at them. My mom is very stressed and my dad’s very calm. So it’s a good combination. Very happy. Maybe also my brother comes on Monday, so it would be nice,” he said.
If Jannik Sinner triumphs over Daniil Medvedev and advances to the final in Rome, he will take on Casper Ruud in a blockbuster showdown. The Italian will fancy his chances of finally getting his hands on the Italian Open trophy, as he enjoys a flawless 4-0 winning record against Ruud.
