Just days before the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, a surprising development emerged from Jannik Sinner’s camp as the Italian reportedly ended his partnership with fitness trainer Marco Panichi and physiotherapist Ulises Badio. Their collaboration began last year and spanned nearly 10 months.
Jannik Sinner Takes Crucial Decision Ahead of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships
Sinner previously worked with physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi and fitness trainer Umberto Ferrara, but parted ways with them amid his doping row last year. The World No. 1 made the shocking decision after the ITIA (International Tennis and Investigation Agency) revealed that the trace amount of Clostebol in his system came from a spray Naldi used on his hand before treating Sinner. Notably, Ferrara gave him the spray.
Panichi and Badio joined Sinner’s team in September last year, nearly a week after his triumphant run at the US Open. Notably, both had successful stints with 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic. Panichi worked with the Serbian from 2017 to 2024, while Badio was part of his team from 2017 to 2022.
Sinner secured the year-end No. 1 ranking last year under their partnership and went on to win the Australian Open title this January. He also celebrated the triumph with his team in the coaching box.

Following a settlement agreement with WADA, Sinner will serve a three-month doping suspension from February 9 to May 4, 2025, but made an impressive return during the clay-court swing, reaching the finals of both the Italian Open and the French Open.
As reported by SkySport on X, Sinner has ended his partnership with Panichi and Badio, a surprising development emerging only a few days before the Wimbledon Championships.
Sinner enters the 2025 Wimbledon Championships as the top seed, aiming to win the tournament for the first time.
Jannik Sinner Has Struggled To Recapture Last Year’s Grass-Court Form
Sinner enjoyed a solid grass-court run last year but has yet to replicate that form this season, with Halle being his only appearance so far. In 2024, he began his campaign at the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle, defeating Tallon Griekspoor, Fábián Marozsán, Jan-Lennard Struff, and Zhang Zhizhen en route to the final. He then faced little resistance from Hubert Hurkacz, claiming the title with a 7-5, 7-5 victory.
He carried that momentum into the Wimbledon Championships, reaching the quarterfinals before falling to Daniil Medvedev in a close five-setter.
This year, however, has told a different story. Sinner entered the Terra Wortmann Open as the defending champion and top seed. He beat Yannick Hanfmann in the first round but lost to Alexander Bublik in the second.
The three-time Grand Slam champion was among the early arrivals at SW19 and practiced with Aryna Sabalenka ahead of the tournament.
