After another thrilling edition of the BNP Paribas Open, Jannik Sinner has been crowned champion. The Italian defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final after two narrowly contested tie-breaks to win his first title at Indian Wells.
Following his historic triumph at the 2026 BNP Paribas Open, Sinner will earn a significant portion of the ATP Masters 1000 event’s total prize fund of $9,415,725.

The men’s singles event at the 2026 BNP Paribas Open lived up to expectations as fans witnessed several close matches and surprising results. Several top seeds were eliminated early, while Carlos Alcaraz suffered his first defeat of 2026, with Learner Tien once again showcasing his potential.
As the winner of the 2026 BNP Paribas Open, Sinner will receive $1,151,380 in prize money. Medvedev will earn $612,340 as the runner-up.

Alexander Zverev and Alcaraz, who were eliminated in the semifinals, will each receive $340,190. The players eliminated in the quarterfinals (Tien, Arthur Fils, Cameron Norrie, and Jack Draper) will collect $193,645.
Players who advanced to the Round of 16 will receive $105,720, while those eliminated in the third round will earn $61,865.
For his triumph at Indian Wells, Sinner will also earn 1,000 ATP ranking points. Medvedev will receive 650 ranking points as the runner-up. The two semifinalists will each add 400 ranking points to their totals when the ATP rankings are next updated.

With the 2026 BNP Paribas Open in the books, the second leg of the Sunshine Double is on the horizon. The Miami Open begins on Tuesday, March 17, and will feature several of the world’s top players.
Sinner’s Run to Indian Wells Title
Sinner endured a challenging start to the year by his standards, losing in the semifinals of the Australian Open. At Indian Wells, however, he looked dominant, beginning with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Dalibor Svrcina in the second round.
He then cruised past Denis Shapovalov before requiring two tie-breaks to defeat Joao Fonseca.
Against Tien in the quarterfinals, Sinner delivered a commanding performance, winning 6-1, 6-2. He followed with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Zverev to secure his place in the final.
In the championship match, Sinner prevailed over Medvedev, winning 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) to lift the ATP Masters 1000 trophy, his first title of 2026.
