The draw for the 2026 Qatar Open has been made, and Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have discovered their potential route to the ATP 500 title. 32 players will compete in the men’s singles event in Doha, with Andrey Rublev the defending champion.
The 2026 Qatar Open will take place from Feb. 16 to 21, and will be played at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha. Both Alcaraz and Sinner will look to win the Qatar Open for the first time in their careers.

Alcaraz will begin his Qatar Open campaign against Arthur Rinderknech. The 2026 Australian Open champion was eliminated in the quarterfinals last season and will hope to improve on that performance this time around.

If all the top seeds advance from their early-round matches, Alcaraz could face seventh seed Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals and fourth seed Daniil Medvedev or Andrey Rublev in the semifinals, with a potential final against Sinner.
The Italian, meanwhile, has been handed a fairly tricky draw and will kick-start his campaign in Doha against Tomáš Macháč. A quarterfinal against Jakub Menšík could then await Sinner. Possible semifinal opponents for the World No. 2 include third seed Alexander Bublik and eighth seed Jiří Lehečka.
Meanwhile, the reigning champion will face Jesper de Jong in the first round of the Qatar Open. Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will go up against Zizou Bergs in what could well be one of the matches to watch of the first round.
Players With Most Ranking Points To Defend at the Qatar Open
The 2026 Qatar Open will be especially crucial for Rublev, who has fallen to 15th place in the ATP Rankings after a slide in form over the last few months. The Russian will have 500 points to defend in Doha as the reigning champion, and an early slip-up could prove to be a big blow to his ranking.
Alcaraz will be defending 100 points in Doha, but has a nearly 3000-point lead over Sinner at the top of the ATP Rankings. World No. 12 Jack Draper will miss the Qatar Open and is set to drop down the ATP Rankings, as he will not be able to defend his 330 points as last year’s finalist.
Last year’s semifinalist, Felix Auger-Aliassime, was expected to compete at the 2026 Qatar Open. But with his name not being in the draw, the Canadian will lose 200 ranking points. The World No. 6 is currently competing at the Rotterdam Open.
Other players with significant ranking points to defend include Lehečka (200 points) and Medvedev (100 points).
