Jannik Sinner was seen hitting the practice courts with his compatriot Jasmine Paolini ahead of the Italian’s final at the Miami Open. Sinner is all set to take on Jiří Lehečka in the summit clash to complete the Sunshine Double.
However, the World No. 2’s choice of practice partner drew praise from former World No. 1 Boris Becker.

Boris Becker took to X and was appreciative of the Italians joining forces on the practice court before the Miami finals. The German great termed it “cool” and found it interesting that the compatriots were together before a high-stakes match.

The Italian contingent has excelled in Miami this year. Sinner has led the way by reaching the men’s singles final. Still, the Italian pair of Jasmine Paolini and Sara Errani has also reached the women’s doubles final against Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend.
Men’s doubles has also seen an Italian pair clinch the trophy in Miami, as the seventh-seeded Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori defeated the fourth-seeded Harri Heliövaara and Henry Patten in the final on Saturday.

Sinner is attempting to become the eighth male player in history and the first since Roger Federer in 2017 to complete the coveted Sunshine Double. However, the Italian is chasing an extraordinary feat of becoming the first player to win the Double without dropping a single set.
The World No. 2 has won 11 consecutive straight-set matches across Indian Wells and Miami and has a high possibility of pulling off the near-impossible feat, as he has never lost a set against Lehečka in three previous matches on the Tour.
Coincidentally, Paolini and Errani will be attempting to stop the Siniaková-Townsend pair from completing the Sunshine Double, as the American-Czech pair won the doubles title in Indian Wells, defeating Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic in the final.

Paolini and Errani will be eyeing payback after losing to the same pair in the Indian Wells semifinal a few weeks ago.
If Sinner crosses the finish line on Sunday, the Italian will be just over 1,000 points adrift of Carlos Alcaraz on the ATP Rankings. With the Spaniard set to defend a large chunk of points during the clay season, a title in Miami will give the Italian player a great chance of getting the No. 1 ranking back ahead of the French Open.
