Rennae Stubbs Explains Why Jannik Sinner Won Fans Over in 2025

The notable Floridian, a player-turned-coach, television commentator, and analyst, recently shared her thoughts on an episode of “The Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast” with her co-host, Caitlin Thompson, co-founder of Racquet Magazine, regarding her theory that led to Sinner winning his third Fan Favorite Award.

Through her theory, Stubbs reflected her admiration and positive views about how Sinner handled his losses at the French Open and US Open, as well as the respect he had for Alcaraz, citing the example of how American star Amanda Anisimova handled herself after losing to Polish sensation Iga Świątek in a double bagel, with 6-0, 6-0, at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships.

She mentioned, “I have a theory, my theory is the way he handled the French Open loss, I think really endeared himself to a lot of fans. Absolutely, I think that made him and the way he handled that, and then went and won the Wimbledon, the way he even talked about his loss at the French and his admiration of Carlos (Alcaraz) and how me makes him a better player.”

Stubbs continued, “Even the way he handled the loss at the US Open, and how he talked about that and how he said you know, Carlos did this different. He did himself in that moment, at the French Open, just like, Amanda Anisimova did at Wimbledon with her loss.”

The Italian and the Spanish elites are considered top-notch in the current men’s tennis landscape and have divided the four Grand Slams in their 2025 seasons, among other prominent titles. Sinner won six singles titles in his 2025 season, including the Australian Open and the Wimbledon Championships.

The exhibition match will be held on Jan. 10, 2026, at Incheon’s Inspire Arena, before the notable athletes grace the courts of the 2026 Australian Open in Melbourne Park.
