Iga Świątek Makes Her Feelings Clear on Having 2025 Swansong at Billie Jean King Cup

World No. 2 Iga Świątek is set to bring her formidable singles and doubles skills to the national side in the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup playoffs next month. The playoff stage presents a final chance for top-level match play before the tour ends, offering Polish fans a showcase of high-stakes competition on indoor hard courts.

What Did Iga Świątek Say About Participating in the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Playoffs?

The play-offs will run from 14 to 16 November, contested across seven host nations in a three-team round-robin format. Each tie comprises two singles matches followed by a doubles match, all best-of-three tiebreak sets. Group B is scheduled at Arena Gorzów in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland, on indoor hard courts, featuring Romania, New Zealand, and Poland as the host nation.

On October 16, Świątek confirmed via Instagram that she will represent Poland in Gorzów Wielkopolski. Her post conveyed gratitude and anticipation, urging supporters to join the team’s journey. She wrote,

“See you in Gorzów Wielkopolski! I am happy to officially share this news – I will be playing in the Billie Jean King Cup playoffs. It will be a great end to the season – playing for my country and in my country, in front of Polish fans. In a team that will certainly give its all. I hope to see you there!”

While the full Polish roster remains unannounced, the addition of Świątek guarantees a strong showing in Gorzów Wielkopolski, with the team looking to capitalize on home conditions. With each group winner advancing to the 2026 qualifying round, the stakes are high for the former World No. 1 to conclude her season on a triumphant note for her nation

Świątek’s Recent Form Heading into BJK Cup Qualifiers

Despite strong results earlier in 2025, Świątek entered the Asia swing with mixed outcomes. While she won the Korean Open under harsh scheduling conditions, her form dropped in the next tournaments. At the China Open, she suffered a three-set defeat against Emma Navarro, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0, marking the American’s first top-10 win since the Australian Open in January.

Shortly after, in Wuhan, she was upset by Jasmine Paolini, 6-1, 6-2, which was the Italian’s first win over the 2025 Wimbledon champion. These consecutive late-season losses have raised questions about her endurance and form under tight scheduling.

Świątek will contest the year-end WTA Finals from 1 to 8 November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, after securing qualification as one of the top eight singles players. This prestigious event concludes the tour season, offering significant ranking points and prize money before her national team duties.
