Świątek vs Andreeva Head-to-Head

This will be the fourth meeting between these two players on the WTA Tour. Andreeva holds the upper hand, with a 2-1 head-to-head lead. She defeated Świątek in Dubai and Indian Wells last year, while the Pole came out on top in their first meeting in Cincinnati.

This will be their first meeting on clay, and Świątek will hope that her excellent record on dirt holds her in good stead. Her season so far has certainly not gone according to plan. But after training under the watchful eye of Rafael Nadal in recent days, she will hope to turn over a new leaf.

Świątek got her campaign in Stuttgart off to a promising start, defeating home favorite Laura Siegemund 6-2, 6-3. The six-time Grand Slam champion struggled to land her first serve at times and also faced five break points. But she also created a number of opportunities on her opponent’s serve while hitting 22 winners.

Andreeva started her clay-court swing by triumphing in Linz. She overcame defending champion Jeļena Ostapenko in her opener in Stuttgart, coming from behind to win 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. The Russian then dispatched Alycia Parks in straight sets, extending her 100% record on clay this year.

Świątek vs Andreeva Prediction and Pick

This will be a battle between two dominant clay-court players. Andreeva is on a six-match winning streak, but Świątek will present her with her toughest test yet.

Still only 18, Andreeva already has two clay-court titles and French Open quarterfinal and semifinal appearances to her name. She is primed for another strong run on clay this year, and a win over Świątek would be a massive boost for her confidence.

Świątek is a two-time champion in Stuttgart and will be eager to start off her new era by regaining the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix crown. Having recently trained under Nadal’s guidance and with Roig as her head coach, the Pole appears to be in great shape for the clay-court season.

But she has endured a disappointing start to the season relative to her high standards, and Andreeva will look to capitalize on any uncertainty that stems from that.

This should be a close match that could well come down to which player can take control in the key moments. We are backing Świątek’s experience to help her prevail in this one.

Pick – Świątek to win in three sets.
