Coco Gauff will take on Alexandra Eala in the third round of the BNP Paribas Open on Sunday. The fourth seed will aim to take down the high-flying 20-year-old who has quickly become a fan favorite on the WTA Tour.
Eala goes into this contest on the back of a 7-5, 4-6, 7-5 win over Dayana Yastremska in the second round. Meanwhile, Gauff began her Indian Wells campaign with a straightforward 6-3, 7-6 (5) win over Kamilla Rakhimova.

Gauff and Eala will be facing off on Stadium 1 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Their match is fourth on the order of play for the day, with Aryna Sabalenka vs Jaqueline Cristian the first match, followed by Ben Shelton vs Learner Tien, and Jannik Sinner vs Denis Shapovalov.
Gauff’s clash against Eala will kick off the night session on Stadium 1, with the match set to get underway around 6 p.m. local time (9 p.m. EDT, 1 a.m. GMT). The live coverage will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday for those living in the Philippines, 5 a.m. for those in the United Arab Emirates, and 4 a.m. for tennis fans in Saudi Arabia.

Coco Gauff vs Alexandra Eala Head-to-Head
This will be the second meeting between Gauff and Eala, following their first less than a month ago. The American claimed a comfortable 6-0, 6-2 win when they met in the quarterfinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships last month.

But a year on from her breakout run at the Miami Open, Eala will be determined to make her mark at Indian Wells. The Filipino player has already made plenty of history with her performances and also holds a 3-3 record against players in the Top 10 of the WTA Rankings.
Two of those wins came at the 2025 Miami Open, where she defeated Iga Świątek and Madison Keys en route to the semifinals. Eala also defeated Jasmine Paolini in Dubai before losing to Gauff. She will now have her sights set on pulling off another upset against the home favorite at Indian Wells.
