How Frances Tiafoe and Felix Auger-Aliassime’s Partners Reacted to French Open Wins

Tiafoe entered the French Open as the No. 19 seed and opened his campaign with a 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-3 win over Eliot Spizzirri. He followed that up with a grueling second-round clash against Hubert Hurkacz, battling through four hours and 43 minutes to notch a 6-7(5), 7-6(5), 6-4, 6-7(1), 6-4 triumph.

Tiafoe booked his spot in the fourth round of the French Open after surviving a tense three-hour, 59-minute contest against Jaime Faria. The American mounted a stellar comeback after losing the first two sets, overcoming a deficit in the third set and navigating a heated confrontation with Faria in the fifth to claim a dramatic 4-6, 6-7(2), 7-6(4), 6-1, 6-2 victory.

While Ayan Broomfield does not appear to be in Paris to cheer Tiafoe on in person, having shared glimpses of a girls night out in New York on May 29, she still made sure to follow the action and proudly showed off the 28-year-old’s impressive comeback win on Instagram.

“Exactly 🤌🤌🤌,” Broomfield posted on her Instagram Story.

Meanwhile, No. 4 seed Auger-Aliassime, who is the highest-ranked player left in the top half of the draw after Jannik Sinner’s shocking upset, locked horns with No. 31 seed Brandon Nakashima in the third round. After losing the tightly contested first set, the Canadian battled back strongly to seal a 5-7, 6-1, 7-6(4), 7-6(1) victory.

Auger-Aliassime enjoyed the support of his wife, Nina, from his player’s box throughout the match, and she later celebrated his triumph on social media.

“Late but good night!” she posted.

Auger-Aliassime has failed to win the first set in all three of his matches at this year’s clay-court Major. He narrowly avoided a first-round exit by displaying his resilience and defeating Daniel Altmaier 4-6, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(7). The Canadian then secured a 4-6, 6-0, 7-5, 6-1 victory over Román Andrés Burruchaga in the second round.
