Fernandez vs. Siniaková Head-to-Head

This will be the fourth meeting between the two players, with Fernandez holding a narrow 2-1 head-to-head lead. Siniaková came out on top in straight sets the last time they met at the Nanchang semifinal in late October 2023.

Just a few days prior to that meeting, Fernandez defeated Siniaková in three sets in the Hong Kong Open final to win her third career title on the WTA Tour.

Fernandez has seen her form dip since her Japan Women’s Open triumph in October 2025. The 23-year-old has won just two of her eight matches since the turn of the year and was eliminated in the first round at the Australian Open.

Siniaková has established herself as one of the world’s elite doubles players, winning 10 Grand Slam women’s doubles titles and completing a career Golden Slam with longtime partner Barbora Krejčíková. She has not been able to maintain that consistency in singles and enters this contest with a 4-4 main-draw win-loss record in 2026.

The Czech player looked sharp in her first-round match against Kenin, mounting a dramatic comeback after losing the opening set, 6-1. Siniaková rallied to win the final two sets, 6-4, 6-1, improving her serve as the match progressed and converting key break points in the decider.

Fernandez vs. Siniaková Prediction

Fernandez has struggled with her serve since the turn of the year, committing numerous double faults across her eight matches. Her key return numbers have also dipped, and she will be eager to turn things around during the Sunshine Swing.

Still, the Canadian has a strong all-around game and plays at a high intensity with quick footwork. She will look to dictate points against Siniaková, who will have momentum on her side following her win over Kenin and will be eager to script an upset.

While Fernandez’s poor start to the season could give Siniaková an opening, we are backing the 2021 U.S. Open finalist to turn things around at Indian Wells and get her campaign off to a win in what should be a close contest.

Pick: Fernandez to win in three sets.
