Eugenie Bouchard, Jessica Pegula, and Coco Gauff recently reacted to Amanda Anisimova’s loss in the 2025 US Open final. This marked the World No. 4’s second successive runner-up finish at a Grand Slam, having previously suffered a 0-6, 0-6 defeat to Iga Świątek in the Wimbledon final.
This year, Anisimova was seeded eighth at the New York Major and she defeated Kimberly Birrell (6-3, 6-2), Maya Joint (7-6(2), 6-2), Jaqueline Cristian (6-4, 4-6, 6-2), Beatriz Haddad Maia (6-0, 6-3), Świątek (6-4, 6-3), and Naomi Osaka (6-7 (4), 7-6 (3), 6-3 to secure her place in the final.
In the championship match, she faced defending champion Aryna Sabalenka and ended up as the runner-up after losing 3-6, 6-7(3).

Following her loss to Sabalenka in the final, Anisimova took to social media to share a series of pictures from the match. She thanked everyone for the love and support they had shown her after her defeat and expressed that tennis is tough, but she hoped to find some “positives” soon.
“This sport ❤️🩹❤️🩹 hopefully I’ll be able to see the positives soon, thanks for all the love!” Anisimova captioned her Instagram post.

In response to Anisimova’s post, Bouchard noted that the $2.5 million she earned as runner-up could certainly be considered one of the positives from her US Open campaign.
“$2.5 mil 🤩,” Bouchard wrote.
The World No. 4’s compatriots, Pegula and Gauff, also voiced their support, with Pegula calling Anisimova “amazing” and Gauff sending her love after the match.
“You were amazing ❤️🩹,” Pegula commented.
“❤️❤️❤️,” Gauff wrote.

In addition to her singles campaign, Anisimova also participated in the mixed doubles event at the 2025 US Open alongside Holger Rune. The duo was seeded fourth but lost in the first round to the wild card pair of Taylor Townsend and Ben Shelton, with a score of 2-4, 4-5(2).

While speaking after her loss to Sabalenka in the final of the 2025 US Open, Anisimova expressed that she did not play her best tennis throughout the match due to nerves, something she has been working to overcome.
“I just felt like throughout the match I wasn’t playing my best tennis. I feel like with finals I have a lot of nerves, and it’s something I’m trying to work on, but I just wish I played more aggressive. I didn’t win today, so of course I didn’t do enough. That’s just the reality, and I have to accept that,” Anisimova said.

The World No. 4 stated that she attempted to do everything right to give herself the best chance of winning, but her efforts ultimately fell short.
“I’ve tried to turn everything around for myself. I was really trying to do all the right things to give myself the best possible chance of winning today, but just wasn’t enough,” she added.

Looking ahead, Anisimova is next expected to compete at the 2025 Korea Open, which will take place at the Olympic Park Tennis Center in Seoul, South Korea, from September 15 to September 21, 2025.
In addition to Anisimova, other players such as Iga Świątek, Daria Kasatkina, Clara Tauson, Sofia Kenin, Tatjana Maria, and McCartney Kessler will also participate in the WTA 500 hard-court tournament in Seoul.
