WTA star Taylor Townsend recently made an emotional admission about missing her son Adyn on his first-ever camp day. Ahead of her quarterfinal showdown in the women’s doubles category, the 29-year-old shared glimpses of her journey to a practice session, expressing how difficult it was to be away from her son on his special day.

Hours after securing a commendable victory over Timea Babos and Luisa Stefani in the third round match at Roland Garros, Townsend admitted to missing her son Adyn on his first day of camp. The 29-year-old recorded a short video message in which she can be seen teary-eyed while traveling to the practice court.
“I’m trying to keep this together, but today is a big day! Today is Adyn’s first camp, and I’m missing him,” she said in her Instagram story.
She also added a caption, mentioning how she couldn’t keep track of the time of her son’s quick growth.
“Yall I can’t believe how time is flying,” she wrote.

The WTA star also added a picture of her son Adyn, dressed up in a red shirt paired with green shorts and Nike sneakers.
“I can’t take it,” she captioned the story.

Taylor Townsend gave birth to her son, Adyn Aubrey, on March 14, 2021. She made a comeback to professional tennis in April 2022, about 13 months later. She won her first title as a mom at the Charleston W100 tournament in May 2022.

Townsend was forced to skip a major part of the clay court season amid the concussion she experienced in Miami. Amid recovering from the health issues, the WTA star posted an update on Instagram, promising fans of her strong comeback at Roland Garros.
“I was hoping to be ready for Madrid, but ended up doing some workouts and some tests and all of my symptoms came back, so these last three or four days have been the first time that I have had no headaches… I really wanted to give myself a chance to heal. I was really scared about my head, and that’s not something I want to play with, so I’m just giving myself an opportunity to really heal… I will be ready front and center at Roland Garros,” she said.

The American came through on her promise as she made it to the quarterfinals alongside her doubles partner Katerina Siniakova. The duo now prepares for their showdown, this time against Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, 4th June.
