Jannik Sinner made a young fan’s day at Roland Garros after reaching the semifinals of the 2025 French Open. This marked the World No.1’s second consecutive appearance in the final four at the clay-court Major. He reached the semifinals last year but lost to the eventual champion, Carlos Alcaraz.
Leading up to the French Open, Sinner competed at the Italian Open, where he finished as the runner-up after losing to Alcaraz in the final.

Sinner is the top seed at the 2025 French Open, and he began his campaign by defeating Arthur Rinderknech 6-4, 6-3, 6-5 and wild card Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 in the first and second rounds, respectively. He then triumphed over Jiří Lehečka in the third round, winning 6-0, 6-1, 6-2, and registered a 6-1, 6-3, 6-4 victory over 17th seed Andrey Rublev in the fourth round to advance to the quarterfinals.
In the quarterfinals, the World No. 1 faced Alexander Bublik and triumphed with a score of 6-1, 7-5, 6-0, securing his place in the semifinals.
After his victory over Bublik, a heartwarming moment was captured between Sinner and a young fan. The little girl was seen holding a placard for Sinner, and after the match, the Italian approached her, signed her poster, and even gave her a towel. The girl was visibly surprised and couldn’t help the tears streaming down her face upon receiving the gift.

Jannik Sinner Will Face Novak Djokovic at the 2025 French Open SF
After his victory against Bublik in the quarterfinals of the 2025 French Open, Sinner is set to face Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the tournament.
Djokovic, who is aiming to win his 25th Grand Slam title, began his campaign at the clay-court Major by defeating Mackenzie McDonald in the first round with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-3, 6-3. He then triumphed over Corentin Moutet in the second round, winning 6-3, 6-2, 7-6(1).
In the third round, the former World No. 1 registered a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 win over qualifier Filip Misolic and followed it up with a 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 victory against Cameron Norrie in the fourth round to secure his place in the quarterfinals. There, Djokovic faced third seed Alexander Zverev and won 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4, advancing to the semifinals where he will take on Sinner.
Sinner and Djokovic have faced each other eight times on the ATP Tour, with each player securing four wins. Their most recent encounter was in the final of the 2024 Shanghai Masters, where the World No. 1 emerged victorious with a score of 7-6(4), 6-3, claiming his fourth Masters 1000 singles title and his 17th career title.
The winner of the semifinals match between Sinner and Djokovic will advance to face either second seed Alcaraz or eighth seed Lorenzo Musetti in the 2025 French Open final.
