Emma Raducanu has been spending time at her home in London since the end of her 2025 tennis season. She recently expressed her frustration with the condition of the London Underground during rush hour.
The former World No. 10’s last competition of the year on the WTA Tour was at the Ningbo Open, where she lost in the first round to Wild Card Zhu Lin.
Emma Raducanu Reacts to “Rush Hour” at the London Underground
After her campaign in China, Raducanu returned to London to rest and prepare for the 2026 season. While in the city, she celebrated her 23rd birthday, had a fun training session with the England Rugby Union team, and enjoyed many other activities. She also got a fresh new hairstyle during the offseason.
Recently, Raducanu took to social media to voice her concerns about the rush hour at the London Underground, also known as the Tube, which is part of the rapid transit system managed by Transport for London.
“My favourite animal is the London Underground during rush hour 😮💨,” Raducanu posted on Threads.

After the conclusion of her tennis season, Raducanu was scheduled to participate in two exhibition events–one in Miami and the other in Newark–in December 2025. However, she withdrew from both events due to light bone bruising in her right foot.
It has also been reported that the former World No. 10 will also travel to Barcelona to train with her coach, Francisco Roig, in preparation for the 2026 season. Roig joined her team in August 2025 during the North American hard-court swing, and he has previously coached the likes of Rafael Nadal and Matteo Berrettini.
Where Will Raducanu Compete First in 2026?
Looking ahead, Raducanu will begin her 2026 season by representing Great Britain at the United Cup, which is scheduled to take place from January 2 to January 11, 2026. The matches will be held in Perth at the RAC Arena and in Sydney at the Ken Rosewall Arena.
Team Great Britain has been placed in Group E, alongside Team Greece and debutants Team Japan, and they will compete in Perth. The British team will consist of Raducanu, Jack Draper, Olivia Nicholls, Billy Harris, Mimi Xu, and Lloyd Glasspool.
“I’m honored to be able to make my United Cup debut in January. It’s great to experience a new format on tour, represent my country, and spend a couple of extra weeks in Australia,” Raducanu said.
Other countries competing at the United Cup are Team Italy, France, Switzerland, the United States, Spain, Argentina, Canada, Belgium, China, Australia, Norway, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Poland.
