Navarro vs. Shnaider Head-to-Head

The two have had two prior encounters on the WTA Tour, with their head-to-head locked at 1-1. Shnaider beat Navarro 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 in the semifinals of the 2024 Bad Homburg Open while the American won 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the third round of that year’s Wimbledon. Additionally, they also faced one another in the final of a WTA 125 event in Paris in 2024, with the Russian winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-4.

Navarro vs. Shnaider Prediction

A considerable amount of time has passed since their last meeting but it will be tough to say who will be the favorite to win on paper. Navarro is the higher-ranked player but Shnaider has a fair chance of coming out on top if she is at her best.

The American has won 46 out of 65 points (70.7%) on her first serve so far in Adelaide, producing three aces and eight double faults. Navarro will look to make the most out of her variety and solid baseline game but she will have to be careful not to produce too many double faults.

Shnaider’s first-serve numbers so far in Adelaide has been better compared to those of Navarro’s, as she won 69 out of 91 points (75.8%). The 21-year-old has served four aces while amassing 13 double faults, a number she will aim to avoid against the American. Shnaider loves to play aggressively and will look to attack from the start of the match. The Russian’s athleticism and net game will also come in very handy.

While Navarro will not be easy to beat, Shnaider has a good chance of coming out on top if she produces a level of tennis close to her best.

Pick: Shnaider to win in three sets.
