Elina Svitolina Reunited With Her Daughter After the Italian Open

Svitolina recently completed her 11th Italian Open campaign, having won the title in 2017 and 2018. As the 16th seed for this year’s tournament, the 30-year-old defeated Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, Hailey Baptiste, and 29th-seeded Danielle Collins.

Although she entered the event in convincing form, her campaign ended in the quarterfinals with a three-set fight against American tennis star Peyton Stearns. But while the setback may have smarted, Svitolina was able to take instant solace in the arms of her daughter.

Shortly after returning home, the Ukrainian turned to Instagram to offer fans a peek into a quaint tea party hosted by little Skai. In the heartwarming video, the toddler can be seen joyfully serving tiny cups of tea to her mom, who played along with a smile.

“Tea time,” Svitolina captioned the video.

Elina Svitolina Credited Husband Gael Monfils and Daughter Skai for Helping Her Recharge

During her campaign at the 2025 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, Elina Svitolina was queried about how she keeps her concentration on tennis despite the current unrest in her country. She conveyed that having her husband, Gael Monfils, and their daughter, Skai, by her side in California has been a stabilizing and grounding influence.

“Yeah, there is time for that and there is time also for tennis. There is time for training and recovery and just completely switch off from everything. Also time with my family. You know, I have my daughter here. You know, Gael is here also. So, you know, it’s nice to sometimes switch off completely from what’s going on,” Elina Svitolina said during a press conference.

“But it’s just these moments, it’s few hours that I try to get. I feel more refreshed and I feel like, you know, just good energy when I need to perform, because I feel like I need to play well. I feel like it’s something that I try to do for my country. You know, to see my flag, you know, raising and, you know, to see the tick with the wind from my country,” she added.

Elina Svitolina, who’s won one title so far this season in Rouen, is expected to resume her campaign at the 2025 French Open, where she chases her first Grand Slam and 19th title overall.
