Medvedev vs. Michelsen Head-to-Head
Medvedev and Michelsen have met three times previously, with the former holding a 3-0 lead in their head-to-head. All three of their meetings have come in the last 12 months.

The 21-year-old has found his rhythm in his home state, defeating Ugo Humbert in three sets before springing a surprise against fellow Californian Taylor Fritz.

Michelsen played with great intensity in the last round against Fritz, earning a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6 (6) win. His serve was on point, as he won 57% of his points on his second serve while delivering several aces.
Medvedev will look to neutralize Michelsen’s aggressive approach, as he has successfully done in their previous meetings. He goes into the match on a six-match winning streak. The 30-year-old also has an excellent record at Indian Wells, where the slow courts suit his gritty and defensive style of play.
After making two finals and a semifinal in the last three years, Medvedev will be keen to make another deep run at the BNP Paribas Open this year. That would go a long way in announcing his return to the top level of tennis.
