Danielle Collins Reacts After Fan Obliges to Her ‘Bank Statement’ Demand With $598,000,000 Proof

Danielle Collins had a hilarious exchange with an anonymous fan on social media earlier on Thursday, October 30. After the American was being relentlessly pursued by the fan, she asked for a “bank statement”. What followed, however, left her surprised by her own admission.

Having delayed retirement following a fantastic 42-18 season in 2024, Collins struggled with her form, compiling a 15-14 record this season. She had fallen to as low as 71st in the women’s singles rankings in February 2024 and recovered in the coming months, ranking herself in the top 15. The 31-year-old didn’t play any matches following her first-round exit at this year’s US Open due to a back injury.

Danielle Collins Gets ‘Ballsy’ Fan Flummoxed With Bank Statement Demand

Collins has since started her pre-season preparations for 2026 early. The former World No. 7 uploaded a few short videos of her practicing on her Instagram stories earlier this week. The tale eventually elicited a response from an anonymous fan who tried to court her by playing up his tennis game and easy-going attitude, and was soon reposted by the American on her stories on Thursday with a rather cheeky caption.

“Lmk if you wanna be a power couple 🤠 I got a nasty forehand and the opposite of a temper hahahaha,” the fan wrote.

“I’ll tell you what… if anyone has the balls to slide into my dm like this just make sure to attach your most recent bank statement while you’re at it,” Danielle Collins wrote in the caption of her Instagram story featuring the fan’s DM to her.

Evidently taken aback by the fact that Collins actually saw their message, the fan persisted with yet another message. In what was seemingly a joke, they attached a screenshot of a bank statement showing an amount well over $550 million having been transferred into their account.

“Holy s**t you read DMs? That means I have a .00001% chance let’s go. Here’s my bank statement,” the fan wrote in a separate DM.

“Modern love… Okay I’m getting off the internet now 😂,” Collins wrote while again reposting the fan’s DMs.

As far as money goes, Collins is more than self-sufficient, having earned career prize money winnings of $10,271,733.

Collins Has Said Her Back Injury is ‘On the Mend’

Collins’ recent injury first flared up in August during her 4-6, 6-7(2) defeat to fellow American Taylor Townsend in the first round of the Cincinnati Open. While the World No. 63 was able to complete the match, she was sobbing and yelling at her team due to pain during the second-set tiebreaker, which was later revealed to have been the result of a herniated disk in her back.

After greeting Townsend at the net following her defeat, Collins was helped by her victor in carrying her bag before she hurried off the court. She later hit out at her detractors in an Instagram story, claiming that she had “given her best” despite her physical niggles.

“Anyone who has a herniated disc knows my pain. It’s no surprise the keyboard warriors can’t understand or relate, as they’ve been too busy sitting on their a**es judging people who show up and try to give it their best even on days that suck,” Collins wrote in her Instagram story following her Cincinnati exit.

A few days later, the American posted a picture of herself on a mountain stroll with the caption that she was “on the mend”.

“On the mend 💚 New York soon for my last event of the year🎾🗽,” she wrote on Instagram in August. Collins is expected to next play during the pre-Australian Open swing in 2026.
