Danielle Collins reveals a hilarious story about her dog pooping near a rival player's locker during her Miami Open title run.

Danielle Collins is one of the most feisty stars on the WTA Tour, known for her fearless personality. From her social media engagement to on-court activities, she keeps making headlines despite currently not being at the top of her game. To focus on her health, the American has decided to step away from tennis, missing the first part of 2026.

Danielle Collins Shares Her Favorite Miami Open Locker-Room Story

One of the most notable storylines of the 2026 Miami Open has been Collins’ transition from the court to the studio. While she is not competing, her presence as an analyst has provided fans with a unique behind-the-scenes look at the tour.

Collins is an American icon who frequently goes viral on social media for her actions, showing the love she receives from fans. She joined Tennis Channel for the live coverage of the Miami Open, featuring top stars including top-ranked American Coco Gauff and top-ranked man Carlos Alcaraz.

During one segment, Collins switched things up, shifting the conversation from professional tennis to personal topics. She mentioned her co-host asking about her favorite locker-room experiences, especially “something salty that happened.”

She began explaining the scenario, involving her pup, Quincy, saying, “I was in the locker room, it was after hours. You’re usually not allowed to bring your dog in the locker room, but I brought Quincy, because no one was really in there, and Quincy basically was like running around, doing zoomies, and he was getting really excited.”

Then came the twist in the story, which made things interesting. “And then he decided to take a poop right next to someone’s locker that I’m not a big fan of. So I’m not gonna mention the name of the player. I don’t want to throw anybody under the bus, of course, because I’m working on trying to be my best self.”

She then said that her pup was able to detect the vibes, “But Quincy, he knew the vibes were sus.” Her co-hosts interrupted her, asking whether she trained Quincy to do that, but the former WTA World No. 7 brushed off the question while laughing hysterically, saying, “How would I possibly have trained that?”

Then Collins’ co-hosts asked whether she cleaned it up or left, given that she did not like the person. “I definitely cleaned it up. I’m not that much of a, you know what. But yeah, I cleaned it up and this was never shared until now,” she reassured that she cleaned the locker room.

Just to confirm which year the incident occurred, one of her co-hosts asked more about it, asking whether it was the year she won that tournament. Collins, fearless again, replied, “I did. It was the year that I won. It was right here. My baby knew, my baby knows who’s nice to Mommy, and who isn’t.”

Even though this was an incident that was more about her pup and she cleaned it to maintain decorum, it shows the bold side of Collins, which she is known for.

Recently, she shared an Instagram post featuring Quincy, recreating the iconic Taylor Swift moment from her Eras Tour at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami from October 2024. That post went viral immediately among both tennis and non-tennis fans, with her sharing a screenshot from the comment section where a fan sparked speculation about her pregnancy.

Collins is currently off the WTA Tour to focus on her recovery and health. She had a lower back injury that cut short her 2025 season, making a 6-2, 6-0 loss to Jaqueline Cristian at the US Open her last tour match.

Apart from this, she is also undergoing egg-freezing treatment to help her start a family. Collins publicly announced she will skip the first part of the 2026 season, with fans keeping an eye on her return.
