Coco Gauff’s Mother Candi Makes Her Feelings Known on 21-Year-Old’s WTA Finals Photoshoot Outfit

World No. 3 Coco Gauff offered fans an elegant glimpse into her life off the court, but it was her mother’s heartfelt reaction that truly captured the moment. The tennis star shared a portrait from the WTA Finals photoshoot in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, drawing an admiring response from her mom, Candi Gauff.

The stylish moment came as Gauff, the defending women’s singles champion, faced an early setback in the 2025 tournament, dropping her opening match to fellow American Jessica Pegula with a final score of 6-3, 6-7, 6-2.

How Did Coco Gauff’s Mother React to Her WTA Finals Photoshoot?

For the event, the American star wore a custom-made purple gown by Miu Miu, an Italian fashion house renowned for its women’s clothing and accessories. This year, Coco Gauff also became the face of a collaboration between the fashion line and New Balance. She originally signed her multi-year sponsorship contract with New Balance in 2018 and represents the brand through her clothing and tennis shoes.

Using Instagram, Candi shared her proud and admirable reaction to her daughter’s striking portrait. She posted, “@@cocogauff ♥️♥️♥️”

Gauff posed beautifully for the 2025 WTA Finals photoshoot at the iconic Bab AlSaad Resort in Diriyah. The historic picture, captured by award-winning Yemeni-Egyptian-American artist Yumna Al-Arashi, also featured fellow WTA Finalists Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Świątek, Amanda Anisimova, Madison Keys, Jessica Pegula, Jasmine Paolini, and Elena Rybakina.

While sharing her thoughts on the photoshoot, Gauff added, “It was nice to see everyone dressed up in different fashions and styles, and it’s always fun to get glammed up. We go all year, tournament to tournament, in sweats and workout gear. This was an opportunity to showcase our personalities and our style, and be showcased in a different light as a whole.”

Beyond the court, Gauff’s family hails from a strong sports background. Her mother, Candi, was a top star for Florida State University’s track and field team, while her father, Corey, played basketball at Georgia State University. Additionally, her two younger brothers, Codey and Cameron, are also invested in sports, including baseball, football, and tennis.

After her prominent French Open victory, a title she claimed after defeating the current World No. 1, Aryna Sabalenka, Gauff reflected on the significance of the support she receives from her family, especially her brothers.

She mentioned, “The support that I have is amazing. My brothers are the reason why I do it. Codey always reminds me of the belief and having that cockiness. Cameron always reminds me to just be joyful in the things I do. I truly learn a lot from everyone around me.”

As the reigning champion from the 2024 WTA Finals, where she defeated former World No. 4 Zheng Qinwen in the final round, Gauff now looks to rebound in the current tournament. She will face Italian Jasmine Paolini in her next match at the WTA Finals, held from Nov. 1 to 8, 2025.
