Coco Gauff Celebrates Mother’s Day With Candi Amid Italian Open Campaign
Coco aims to capture her first title of the 2025 season in the Italian capital. She has already advanced to the fourth round of the WTA 1000 event with wins over Victoria Mboko (3-6, 6-2, 6-1) and Magda Linette (7-5, 6-3).
Moreover, like in her previous campaigns, the American’s mother, Candi, accompanied her to Rome’s historic Foro Italico. Coco shares a close bond with her mother, and both frequently support and gush over each other on social media.
Coco Gauff celebrated Mother’s Day by taking her mom, Candi, on a special outing. Candi later shared highlights on her Instagram story, including a bouquet of roses and an elegant portrait of the Colosseum. Candi also posted pictures of a few more gifts she received—a Roma bag, a printed black T-shirt, and earrings.
The 21-year-old also took her mother for a special dinner date, where they enjoyed tempting local delicacies accompanied by white wine.

The 2023 US Open champion wished Candi a Mother’s Day on her Instagram story, sharing a picture from the Academy Awards, where Coco wore an elegant yellow gown and her mother exuded charm in a dazzling grey one.
“Happy mother’s day to my favorite date, I love you,” she captioned.

Candi, a sports enthusiast, was a gymnast before becoming a track-and-field star for Florida State University. She was also a five-time Florida state champion in heptathlon and became South Florida Sun Sentinel Athlete of the Year twice.
Coco Gauff’s Mother, Candi, Shared an Emotional Reaction As Daughter Embarked on an Entrepreneurial Journey
As mentioned earlier, Coco’s mother, Candi, has been a constant source of support in her many life decisions, and starting Coco Gauff Enterprises in partnership with VME was one of them.
The 2024 French Open doubles winner was previously in partnership with Swiss legend Roger Federer’s co-founded management firm, Team 8. But earlier this year, Coco Gauff decided to part ways with the company to start her own firm, Coco Gauff Enterprises. The firm is represented by William Morris Endeavor (WME), which has previously worked with 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams.
“I’m excited to build something that allows me to take greater ownership of my career while also creating opportunities that extend beyond myself as I continue to grow as an athlete, entrepreneur, and changemaker. Coco Gauff Enterprises will be represented and supported by WME, a team with the vision and resources to help me explore all the opportunities ahead,” she wrote.
Coco’s mother, Candi, appeared proud of the announcement and left a heartfelt message for her daughter in the comments.
“May God continue to order your steps and protect you! Amen,” she wrote
Gauff has reached the third round of the Italian Open, where she will face 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu. This will be their second encounter on tour, with the American leading 1-0 in their head-to-head. Whoever prevails will face either.

Extremely proud of Ms Coco Gauff and her family in keeping God first in all that they Aspire to do. Continue to strive to please God. You will always be focused and God will continue to order and guide your steps. Be blessed and Trust God period.
