Coco Gauff’s Parents Pen Messages for Mizzou-Bound Codey Gauff

The milestone adds another chapter to the Gauff family’s athletic story. Codey, the middle child, has been carving out his own lane on the baseball diamond while Coco rose through the global tennis ranks. Playing high-level high school baseball with Elite Squad Academy, Codey’s skills on the field have now earned him a coveted spot with Mizzou’s NCAA Division I program beginning in 2026.

For a household built on sports, the achievement fit naturally. Both parents competed in college athletics: Corey played basketball at Georgia State University, and Candi excelled in track and field at Florida State University. Their three children were encouraged to choose one sport during their growing-up years. Coco found her stride in tennis, Codey gravitated to baseball, and their youngest, Cameron, tried his hand at football and tennis.

Candi led the family’s celebration with a heartfelt Instagram post, sharing several photos from the signing ceremony surrounded by relatives and close friends. She captioned her post, “We are proud of you!!! Congratulations on the official signing of your letter of intent to play baseball at Mizzou University!”

“Remember to keep God first, make the right choices, and always remember I will always be your #1 fan and forever your mom. You can always call me no matter the time or situation.”
