    Coco Gauff’s Mother Candi Immerses Herself in the Spirit of Paris While Daughter Ramps Up French Open Preparation

    Coco Gauff’s mom, Candi, just shared a photo of herself standing in front of a gigantic Olympic rings installation with the Eiffel Tower behind it. The shot was taken on her trip to Paris, where she accompanied her daughter for the upcoming French Open.

    Coco Gauff arrived in Paris amidst a strong performance during the clay-court season, which includes consecutive WTA 1000 finals in Madrid and Rome. The 2025 French Open is the American’s sixth main-draw appearance at the tournament. Seeded second this year, Gauff will begin her campaign against Olivia Gadecki on May 25.

    In the middle of all the anticipation around the tournament, Candi Gauff posted a photo of herself striking a pose in front of the iconic Olympic logo, with the Eiffel Tower as a dramatic Parisian backdrop. She captioned it: “Good Morning”.

    Coco Gauff’s last tennis performance in Paris was last year’s Olympics, where she was the flag bearer for the American contingent in the opening ceremony alongside NBA icon LeBron James. She started her singles campaign with wins over Ajla Tomljanović and Maria Lourdes Carlé before succumbing 7-6(7), 6-2 to eventual silver medalist Donna Vekić in the third round.

    In doubles, Gauff teamed with Jessica Pegula as the top-seeded team. They lost 6-2, 4-6 [5-10] to the Czech pair Karolína Muchová and Linda Nosková in the second round. In the mixed doubles event, the then-20-year-old and Taylor Fritz made it to the quarterfinals, falling 7-6(2), 3-6, 10-8 to Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Félix Auger-Aliassime.

    Coco Gauff’s Mom Candi Gives a Heartfelt Nod to Her Daughter’s Tennis Career

    Rolex’s fresh mini-documentary featured Coco Gauff‘s family life, that has influenced her tennis career. In her native hometown of Delray Beach, Florida, the 21-year-old narrated how her community and family supported her coming up, while also talking about being inspired by Serena Williams and her surprise win over Venus Williams at Wimbledon 2019.

    Gauff said that even during disappointments, like her 2022 French Open final loss, her family resilience anchored her. Her grandmother, Yvonne Odom, was the first African-American student to integrate Atlantic High School, and her grandfather was involved in the first African American Little Leagues.

    Now a Grand Slam champion, Coco Gauff lives by the motto on her shoes: “You can change the world with your racket.”
