The announcement of the 2025 French Open women’s singles gambling odds has set social media aflame. Although top stars such as Iga Świątek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Coco Gauff are unsurprisingly at the top of the list, the omission of Italy’s Jasmine Paolini from the rankings has left fans wondering what factors drove these rankings.
French Open 2025 Betting Odds Stir Fan Outrage
In preparation for the esteemed Roland Garros event, the Tennis Channel posted a graphic of the current top eight women’s favorites based on odds. Not surprisingly, four-time French Open winner Iga Świątek topped the betting odds at +225, despite a recent dip in form, including an early exit at the Italian Open.
Aryna Sabalenka shares the same odds, given her steady form this year. Coco Gauff is next at +400, boosted by her recent finals showing in Madrid and Rome. Mirra Andreeva, the 17-year-old phenom, is +550, having progressed much more than anyone would have expected this season, including defeating Sabalenka at Indian Wells. Zheng Qinwen, Elena Rybakina, Elina Svitolina, and Jelena Ostapenko are long shots with +1000 or longer odds.
Jasmine Paolini’s absence among the top favorites is more puzzling. Ranked World No. 4, Paolini has performed excellently this clay-court season, securing singles and doubles titles in the Italian Open. Paolini was also the singles and doubles event runner-up at the 2024 French Open.
Her clay-court credentials have never looked stronger, making her absence from the betting favorites particularly baffling to fans. One X (formerly Twitter) user who posted the odds screenshot expressed the general sentiment, writing:
“Jasmine not being here kinda crazy…”

Other users were even more direct. One pointed out: “Last year’s finalist not on here… they need to stop disrespecting her like this,” highlighting Paolini’s performance in Paris last year.

Another added: “Svitolina being on here and not Paolini is insane. Svitolina isn’t terrible on clay, but she hasn’t done anything this year. Paolini just won singles and doubles in Rome and was a FO finalist last year.”

The frustration didn’t stop there. Even Swiatek’s top-seed status drew criticism, with one fan exclaiming: “Iga being the biggest favorite is insanity and delusional,” while another sarcastically asked: “Have the oddsmakers watched Iga play tennis recently?”

Some even dismissed the lower-tier names on the list: “Zero chance anyone on that bottom row is winning!”

“Who tf coming up with these?” wrote another.

“Bruh Rybakina and Ostapenko?? They both won’t make it past the first week I bet,” commented another.
