At just 24, Eva Lys has been officially recognized as one of Germany’s 50 most influential and powerful people. The German tennis pro earned this honor through her rise in the WTA rankings and her refusal to back down from speaking up about her personal life and challenges, which had an impact on many. Lys shared a post about the accolade, and her fellow pros from the WTA, including Coco Gauff, Iva Jovic, and Zeynep Sönmez, commented with celebration.

Lys is a very friendly face in the locker room and particularly has strong bonds with many American players. They all post about the time they spend together on social media, and here, her peers were quick to flood the comment section to celebrate her.
Gauff commented, “periodddd,” while Jovic playfully hyped her up: “when she’s powerful and influential 😍😍.”

Alexandra Eala left a supportive string of emojis: “🙌🙌❤️.” Zeynep Sönmez also chimed in with a series of heart-eyes: “😍😍😍😍😍.”
Caro Daur, a prominent German fashion influencer, commented, “the yin to my yang.”
Recently in Paris, ahead of the 2026 French Open, Eala was surprised with a 21st-birthday celebration on the practice courts, organized by Lys, Jovic, and Sönmez. They also had posted about their night out with the Filipina on the same day. Earlier in the clay-court season during the Italian Open in Rome, Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys joined Gauff, Jovic, and several other US players for a team-building dinner and gelato outing that highlighted their close dynamic on tour.
All of them recently competed in the French Open as well, though they have all since been eliminated from the singles draw. Lys reached the second round of the tournament before being defeated by Sorana Cîrstea. Gauff advanced to the third round before suffering a surprise 4-6, 7-6(1), 6-4 upset defeat to Anastasia Potapova. The 18-year-old Jovic defeated Eala in the first round and reached the third round, losing the three-set battle to Naomi Osaka, 7-6(5), 6-7(3), 6-4.
With the clay-court season concluding, they will soon shift their focus to the grass-court swing in preparation for Wimbledon.
