Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka Walk a Red Carpet in Style at Cincinnati Open 2025

Sabalenka is the defending champion at the 2025 Cincinnati Open, having won the tournament last year by defeating Jessica Pegula in the final. This year, she is the top seed and started her campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye.

The World No. 1 commenced her title defense by triumphing over Markéta Vondroušová with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-1 in her opening match. She then faced 30th seed Emma Raducanu in the third round, winning with a 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-6(5) score.

On the other hand, Gauff, seeded second, also began her Cincinnati campaign in the second round following a first-round bye. She secured a victory against Wang Xinyu, winning 6-3, 6-2 in the second round. She then advanced to the fourth round after her third round opponent, 32nd seed Dayana Yastremska, withdrew from the tournament due to illness.

After the conclusion of the Cincinnati Open, Sabalenka and Gauff will next compete at the 2025 US Open. The World No. 1 will defend her title at the Grand Slam after winning last year by defeating Pegula in the final. Meanwhile, Gauff won the New York Major in 2023 by triumphing over Sabalenka in the final.

Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka Have Both Reached the Fourth Round at Cincinnati Open 2025

Following her victory over Raducanu in the third round of the 2025 Cincinnati Open, Sabalenka will face Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro in the fourth round of the tournament.

Maneiro defeated wild card Venus Williams (6-4, 6-4), 21st seed Leylah Fernandez (6-3, 6-3), and another wild card, Taylor Townsend (6-4, 6-1), in the first three rounds of the WTA 1000 event to secure her place in the fourth round against Sabalenka.

Sabalenka and Maneiro have met only once on the WTA Tour, during the second round of the 2025 Australian Open, where the World No. 1 emerged victorious with a scoreline of 6-3, 7-5. Following that match, Sabalenka advanced to the final, ultimately finishing as the runner-up to Madison Keys.

The winner of the upcoming fourth-round match between Sabalenka and Maneiro will progress to the quarterfinals in Cincinnati, where they will face either sixth seed Keys or ninth seed Elena Rybakina.

Meanwhile, Gauff advanced to the fourth round after Dayana Yastremska withdrew from their scheduled third-round match at the 2025 Cincinnati Open. The World No. 2 will compete against Lucia Bronzetti in the fourth round.

Bronzetti began her campaign at the WTA 1000 hard court event in Ohio with a victory over Zhu Lin, winning 6-7(6), 6-2, 7-6(6) in the first round. She followed this with a win against Daria Kasatkina, securing a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 victory in the second round. The Italian earned her spot in the fourth round by overcoming 23rd seed Jeļena Ostapenko with a score of 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the third round.

Gauff and Bronzetti have faced each other twice on the WTA Tour, with the two-time Grand Slam champion winning both matches. Their most recent encounter was during the third round of the 2024 BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, where Gauff won with a scoreline of 6-2, 7-6(5).

The winner of Gauff and Bronzetti’s fourth-round match at the 2025 Cincinnati Open will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will compete against either seventh seed Jasmine Paolini or Barbora Krejčíková.
