Coco Gauff savors her last night at home before the European clay swing as an injured Amanda Anisimova focuses on recovery.

American tennis stars Coco Gauff and Amanda Anisimova recently offered a glimpse into their lives off the court. Gauff will soon head to the European clay-court swing, while Anisimova is recovering from an unspecified injury sustained at the Miami Open, which also forced her withdrawal from the Charleston Open.

Gauff, who is currently ranked No. 3 in the world, started her season by reaching the quarterfinals of the 2026 Australian Open before eventually falling to Elina Svitolina. The American couldn’t meet expectations at the Qatar Open, losing to Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the second round.

Despite raising her level at the Dubai Duty Free Championships and reaching the semifinals, Gauff yet again failed to overcome Svitolina, who eventually ended her campaign.

Gauff’s campaign in Indian Wells was derailed by an arm injury that forced her to retire during her third-round match against Alexandra Eala. However, she turned things around impressively.

Despite the short turnaround before the Miami Open, Gauff recovered swiftly and battled through a demanding draw to reach the final, where she was defeated by world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Her dominant campaign in Miami even catapulted her to the No. 3 spot in the WTA rankings.

Anisimova is still chasing her first title of the 2026 season, despite solid runs to the Australian Open quarterfinals and the Dubai semifinals. However, her Sunshine Double campaign fell short of expectations. She exited in the fourth round at Indian Wells to Victoria Mboko and then suffered a straight-set defeat to Belinda Bencic in Miami.

However, Anisimova’s momentum stalled due to a wrist injury in Miami, prompting her to withdraw from the Charleston Open and prioritize her recovery.

“I’m really sorry to have to miss this year’s Charleston Open. I picked up an injury at the Miami Open and after taking medical advice, I’ve made the difficult decision to withdraw and focus on my recovery,” she said.

Although Anisimova is sidelined, she is making the most of her time away from competition. The world No. 6 shared a series of pictures on her Instagram story, the first showing her smiling with the upper part of her face shaded by a cap, followed by another of her enjoying the sun.

The next stop on the clay-court swing is the 2026 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, where Gauff will be aiming to secure her first title of the season. The event is set to be highly competitive, with a lineup led by world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, alongside Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek, Elena Rybakina, and others.
