The 98th Academy Awards ceremony recently took place, where Michael B. Jordan won his first Oscar. This achievement drew reactions from Coco Gauff and Serena Williams’ husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. It is worth noting that, last year, during the United Cup, the former world No. 2 had revealed that Jordan was her celebrity crush.
The 2026 Oscars were organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and were held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, United States.
Coco Gauff and Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian React to Michael B. Jordan Winning the Best Actor Oscar
Jordan received the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performances as Elijah “Smoke” Moore and Elias “Stack” Moore in the film “Sinners.” With this win, he became the sixth Black actor to receive the award. He was nominated alongside TimothĂ©e Chalamet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, and Wagner Moura.
Reacting to Jordan bagging the best actor Oscar, Gauff and Ohanian took to social media to celebrate the 39-year-old’s achievement. The two-time singles Grand Slam champion expressed that Jordan’s win was “deserved,” while Ohanian stated that he was “happy” for the actor.
“deserved,” Gauff captioned her Instagram story.
“At last!!!! @michaelbjordan so happy for you dude,” Ohanian wrote.

“Sinners” received a record sixteen nominations, the most in Oscar history. In addition to Jordan, Autumn Durald Arkapaw won the Best Cinematography award for the film, making her the first woman and the first Black person to receive it. Ryan Coogler also won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the film.
Gauff and Ohanian also celebrated these accomplishments from “Sinners.”
“Locked in for @sinnersmovie big night- LFG,” Ohanian captioned his Instagram story.

On the tennis side, Gauff most recently competed at the 2026 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. There, she won against qualifier Kamilla Rakhimova with a score of 6-3, 7-6(5) in her opening match and then faced the 31st seed, Alexandra Eala, in the third round, and had to retire during the second set due to a left-arm injury, with the score at 6-2, 2-0 (retd.)
Looking ahead, Gauff is set to compete in the 2026 Miami Open, which will take place from March 15 to March 29, 2026. The matches will be held on outdoor hard courts at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. In addition to the former world No. 2, players such as Elena Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini, Jessica Pegula, Aryna Sabalenka, and Iga ĹšwiÄ…tek are also expected to participate in the WTA 1000 hard-court tournament in Florida.
Gauff is seeded fourth at the 2026 Miami Open and will begin her campaign in the second round after a first-round bye. She will face either Elisabetta Cocciaretto or a qualifier in her opening match. The winner of that match will go on to play against the 28th seed, Maya Joint, Alycia Parks, or another qualifier in the third round.
Gauff recorded her best result at the WTA 1000 hard-court tournament in Florida in the doubles event in 2023. She had partnered with Pegula, and they triumphed over the pair of Leylah Fernandez and Taylor Townsend in the final to claim the title.
