Top seed and pre-tournament Carlos Alcaraz will face the seventh-seeded Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Qatar Open.
Alcaraz has been in fine form in Doha so far, starting with a 6-4, 7-6 (5) win over Arthur Rinderknech in the first round, followed by a 6-2, 7-5 win over Valentin Royer in the second round, where the Spaniard recovered from a 2-5 deficit in the second round.
Khachanov started his campaign with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 win over Shintaro Mochizuki in the first round, followed by a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win over Marton Fucsovics.
Alcaraz has won all five of his matches against Khachanov, including a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 victory over the Russian at the Italian Open last year.
Alcaraz won 75 percent of the first serve points and 55 percent of the second serve points in Doha so far, being broken only once, while having a 36 percent break point conversion rate.
Khachanov, on the other hand, has won 80 percent of the first serve points and 44 percent of the second serve points, while having a 42 percent rate of break point conversion.
With Alcaraz’s current form and his dominant head-to-head against Khachanov, the Spaniard is the favorite to win the upcoming match.

Andrey Rublev vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas
Fifth-seeded and defending champion Andrey Rublev will face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Qatar Open.
Rublev began his title defense with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jesper De Jong in the first round, followed by a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Fábián Marozsán in the second round.
Tsitsipas, on the other hand, started with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Moez Echaragui in the first round, and then had a big upset, winning 6-3, 6-4 against Daniil Medvedev in the next round.
The head-to-head between the two players is close, and after eleven meetings, Tsitsipas has a narrow 6-5 lead, but it was Rublev who won 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 the last time they played at the ATP Finals in 2022.
Tsitsipas has been the more dominant force on serve in Doha so far, as the Greek has won 81 percent of the first-serve points and has yet to face a break point in two matches, whereas Rublev has an equally impressive 75 percent win rate behind his first serve, while being broken once.
The Russian edges the Greek in break-point conversion, with a 62 percent conversion rate, compared to Tsitsipas’s 29 percent. Considering Tsitsipas’s recent hard-court form and Rublev’s status as defending champion, the Russian has the marginal edge in the upcoming match.
