Jannik Sinner made it back-to-back Wimbledon men’s singles titles at the All England Club on Sunday as he came from behind to defeat Alexander Zverev 6-7(7), 7-6(2), 6-3, 6-4.
After the match, the Italian received a congratulatory message from his rival and friend, Carlos Alcaraz.

Sinner enjoyed another remarkable run at Wimbledon and capped it off with a sublime performance on serve as he defeated Zverev to successfully defend his title. Getting the win in the three-hour, 46-minute-long contest helped Sinner clinch his fifth Grand Slam title.
Alcaraz, a fellow two-time Wimbledon champion, sent a message to Sinner after the match. “Congratulations Jannik and team! Enjoy the moment, Jannik Sinner,” Alcaraz wrote on his Instagram story.

Sinner and Alcaraz are two of the top tennis players in the world and share a fierce rivalry on the court. They have faced each other in some thrilling matches over the years, including last year’s Wimbledon final, where the Italian dethroned the Spaniard. However, they are good friends off the court and often revel in each other’s successes.
Alcaraz has been sidelined with a right wrist injury since the Barcelona Open in April. As a result of the injury, the 23-year-old has been forced to miss the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships.
Now back in training and looking to get back to full fitness, Alcaraz will have his sights set on returning to the ATP Tour in time for his title defense at the Cincinnati Open and the US Open. He finds himself down to third place in the ATP rankings, with Zverev set to overtake him after winning the French Open and reaching the Wimbledon final.
Meanwhile, Sinner has solidified his lead at the top of the ATP rankings and stands 4970 points ahead of the German after lifting the Wimbledon title.

Sinner was a class apart at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships, defeating both Novak Djokovic and Zverev without a single break of serve against him. He did brilliantly to bounce back and win the Wimbledon title, just over a month after his remarkable collapse against Juan Manuel Cerúndolo in the second round of the French Open.
The World No. 1 has lost just three matches this year, and only one since February. He will now target a second US Open title, having fallen one win short of defending his title against Alcaraz in last year’s final.
