Carlos Alcaraz spoke about facing Jannik Sinner in the Cincinnati Open final. The two will lock horns for the tenth time and the fourth time in 2025. All of their previous encounters so far this year have come in finals.

Alcaraz and Sinner both booked their respective spots in the final of the Masters 1000 event with straight-set wins. While the Italian beat Térence Atmane 7-6(4), 6-2, the Spaniard triumphed 6-4, 6-3 over third seed Alexander Zverev, who was far from his physical best.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Alcaraz said that he was exciited to face Sinner in the final in Cincinnati. The Spaniard also called his rival the best player in the world.
“Yea I’m excited, I’m excited about it. It’s gonna be great. He won the last one, I won the first two finals, so it’s gonna be really interesting. If I’m not wrong, it is the first final on hard court. So, I’m excited about taking that challenge. I know that Jannik, without doubt, is the best player in the world on hard court, probably on every surface right now. So, it’s gonna be a great match,” Alcaraz said.
I have to be ready for that, seeing what I did wrong in the last match and I will try to make it better on Monday. I’m glad to be in another final, I think it’s my seventh in a row, the fourth against Jannik, so, it’s gonna be a great day,” he added.

A Look at the Last 3 Matches Between Alcaraz and Sinner in 2025
The first meeting between the two top-ranked tennis players in the world first came in the final of the Italian Open, which was Sinner’s comeback tournament after his doping ban. Alcaraz won a tight opening set before dominating the second to win 7-6(5), 6-1.
They then locked horns in what will go down as one of the best Grand Slam finals ever at the French Open. Sinner took the first two sets but Alcaraz saved a championship point and eventually scripted a terrific comeback to win 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(2). They then locked horns in the Wimbledon final, with the Italian coming back from a set down to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
If Alcaraz wins, he will clinch his first title in Cincinnati while victory for Sinner will see him become the first man to win successive titles at the Masters 1000 event since Roger Federer in 2014 an 2015.
