Tennis fans are in for a treat on Friday, March 20, as Hard Rock Stadium is set to host multiple matches, along with several marquee matchups. After Thursday was one of the busiest days of the opening week following a full washout on Wednesday, top stars, including Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, and Elena Rybakina, are set to kick off their respective campaigns at the second leg of the Sunshine Double.
The matches originally scheduled for 10:00 a.m. local time, though, will face half hour delays due to rain.
Coco Gauff and Carlos Alcaraz Headline Friday’s Miami Open Action
The order of play for Friday, March 20, features a star-studded lineup, with the fourth-ranked American Gauff facing Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto on the Stadium court, not before 1:00 p.m. local time.
This match will be immediately followed by Aryna Sabalenka’s second-round match against American Ann Li, before the ATP Tour holds one of the biggest matchups of the tournament.

World No. 1 Alcaraz will take on Brazilian sensation João Fonseca, not before 7:00 p.m. local time at the Stadium court. After this match, the 2026 Australian Open champion, Elena Rybakina, will take on fellow Kazakh star Yulia Putintseva, which is not scheduled to start before 8:30 p.m. local time.
American Amanda Anisimova will kick things off at the Grandstand at 11:00 a.m. local time, taking on Australian star Ajla Tomljanović. Taylor Fritz will headline the afternoon session at this court, taking on Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp.
Another American, Jessica Pegula, will play the final match on the Grandstand, taking on Briton Francesca Jones, not before 7:00 p.m. local time.
Tommy Paul will take on Frenchman Adrian Mannarino on the Butch Buchholz Court before Madison Keys faces Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka will conclude the action on this court on Friday, taking on Australian qualifier Talia Gibson.
Victoria Mboko headlines Court 1, taking on Anna Blinkova at 10:30 a.m. local time, with fellow Canadian Leylah Fernandez finishing things off against Oksana Selekhmeteva. American Hailey Baptiste will face the 22nd seed, Liudmila Samsonova, on Court 2 before American wildcard Sloane Stephens faces the 26th seed, Qinwen Zheng.

Court 3 features marquee matchups on the WTA Tour, with Elina Svitolina facing Australian wildcard Emerson Jones not before 3:00 p.m. local time. Iva Jovic then takes on Spaniard Paula Badosa to conclude the evening session at the court.
