Norrie and de Minaur: Head-to-Head History
This will be the sixth meeting between these two players on the ATP Tour, and it is Norrie who leads the head-to-head 3-2. The Brit came out on top in straight sets when they met at Indian Wells last month.
Their only meeting on clay so far came in Barcelona in 2022, which de Minaur won 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.
With a title in Rotterdam and a run to the last eight of the Australian Open, de Minaur has had some big highs this season. But there have also been some lows: He has failed to reach the third round in his last three tournaments.

The 27-year-old does not have the best of clay-court records, with 39 wins in 76 matches and no titles to his name.
Norrie, on the other hand, does have a better pedigree on clay. Two of his five titles on the ATP Tour have come on clay, and he has an overall win-loss record of 70-43. With a 61.9% win percentage, stats say clay is his favorite surface.
That said, his record in Monte-Carlo is not the best, and he failed to qualify for the main draw last year. Going into this second-round matchup, Norrie has a 10-7 win-loss record in 2026.
Norrie vs. de Minaur: Match Prediction
Norrie will take plenty of confidence going into this one, having beaten de Minaur at Indian Wells. The 30-year-old also has a better overall clay-court record and looked solid against Kecmanović in the first round. The win over Kecmanović was Norrie’s first in Monte-Carlo since 2019.
While de Minaur’s overall clay-court record does not make for pretty reading, he did show improvement last year, reaching the semifinals in Monte-Carlo. He moved a lot better on clay and appeared to adapt a more measured approach to the surface last year.
After a disappointing Sunshine Swing, the Australian will have his sights set on a better clay-court run this year.
This could be a close match between two quality players, but we believe that de Minaur has the quality to ultimately come out on top. The PFSN Tennis Simulator is giving him a 60% chance of getting the win.

Pick: de Minaur in straight sets
