Ben Shelton’s girlfriend, soccer star Trinity Rodman, has arrived in Houston, Texas, to support the American in his campaign at the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships. The world No. 9 has entered the ATP 250 event after concluding his journey at the Miami Open with a round of 64 loss to Kazakhstani star Alexander Shevchenko.
Trinity Rodman Supports Ben Shelton in ATP Houston Title Run
Shelton is competing at the River Oaks Country Club as the top seed, followed by Frances Tiafoe, Learner Tien, Tommy Paul, Brandon Nakashima, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Alex Michelsen, and the defending champion, Jenson Brooksby.
After delivering impressive performances in the ASB Classic and the Australian Open, Shelton captured the title at the Dallas Open after defeating Taylor Fritz. However, his form stumbled at the Indian Wells Open, where he was defeated in the round of 32 by Learner Tien. This continued at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, as he faced an early loss from the former world No. 45.
Shelton faced limitations in the Sunshine Double due to illness and still managed his symptoms through medications, as he shared after winning his round of 64 against Reilly Opelka, adding, “I took Theraflu this morning – 500mg acetaminophen, 500mg naproxen, a cough tablet, cough drops. I played with cough drops in my mouth the whole match.”

Despite health challenges, the young star shared his thoughts on his physicality, adding, “My body gets into a state where it becomes automatic. I don’t have to think about technique anymore. I don’t have to think about what steps I’m taking. It’s there and it’s easy and it just happens.”
Coming onto his run at Houston, Shelton has received a bye in the round of 32 and will be clashing against former world No. 31 Zhang Zhizhen in the round of 16. His girlfriend, Rodman, was recently spotted supporting him on his journey.

Rodman, who started dating the ATP star in March 2025, has been a steady presence throughout his tournaments and is an elite player in the National Women’s Soccer League.

In Houston, Rodman also shared an admirable moment with Paul, helping him achieve his goal by moving the goalpost. An Instagram post by Fayez Sarofim & Co. US Clay, with the caption, “Assist too clean to mess it up, @tommypaull 🙌 #trinityrodman #washingtonspirit #nwsl #usclay.”
In January this year, Rodman signed a three-year contract extension worth over $2 million annually with the Washington Spirit, becoming the highest-paid player in league history and the highest-paid female player in the world.
