Ben Shelton Stunned by Girlfriend Trinity Rodman’s Energy As They Reunite in Stuttgart After Her USWNT Duties

Ben Shelton marvels at his girlfriend Trinity Rodman's energy as they reunite ahead of his suspended quarterfinal match in Stuttgart.

Ben Shelton has been reunited with his girlfriend, soccer star Trinity Rodman, during his campaign at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart. Rodman arrived in Germany after competing with the U.S. Women’s National Team in Brazil, where the team played two international friendlies at stadiums scheduled to host games during the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

How Ben Shelton Reacted to Girlfriend Trinity Rodman’s Arrival in Stuttgart

While Rodman was competing in Brazil, Shelton kicked off his grass-court season at the BOSS Open following a disappointing second-round exit at the French Open. Following a first-round bye, the top seed secured a hard-fought 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(5) victory over Marcos Giron. The match stretched across two days after slippery conditions forced play to be suspended on Thursday, June 11.

After Shelton sealed his victory on Friday, he locked horns with Sho Shimabukuro in the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 event. However, the match was also interrupted due to darkness after the Japanese qualifier clinched the first set 6-4, pushing the remainder of the contest to Saturday.

Shelton had the opportunity to spend quality time with Rodman and his father, Bryan, after his match was suspended. The American was in disbelief over his girlfriend’s energy levels despite her having traveled from Brazil, a journey that typically involves 12 hours of flying.

“🇧🇷➡🇩🇪 and somehow alive 🐐? @trinity_rodman,” Shelton posted.

Although the couple reunited in person in Stuttgart, they also stayed connected while apart, with Rodman sharing a glimpse of her video call with Shelton while she was in Brazil.

The 23-year-old has previously credited Rodman for the effort she puts into supporting him at tournaments. Following his first-round win at the 2025 US Open, Shelton revealed that Rodman took a red-eye flight to watch him compete less than 24 hours after playing an NWSL match for the Washington Spirit.

“My girlfriend took the red eye from California last night to be here,” he said. “So, we’re here for the long haul, just looking forward to it.”

Shelton has also spoken about the soccer star’s surprise at the demanding tennis calendar, particularly the extensive travel and the length of men’s matches at the Grand Slams.

“I think there’s a lot of things she’s been surprised by with the tennis tour. Especially how much we play, where we travel to. It’s been kinda crazy for her to see. And I guess how long the matches are,” he said.

On the tennis front, Ben Shelton will bank on the support of Trinity Rodman and his loved ones as he looks to mount a comeback against Sho Shimabukuro when their match resumes on Saturday, June 13. If he emerges victorious, the American will lock horns with Jiří Lehečka in the semifinals.
