Ben Shelton’s girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, recently responded to a troll who criticized her birthday message for the World No. 6. Shelton celebrated his 23rd birthday on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
Shelton and Rodman made their relationship public in March of this year. The latter is a professional soccer player who plays as a forward for the United States national team and the Washington Spirit in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
To date, Rodman has won the NWSL Championship, earned a spot on the NWSL Best XI, and was named NWSL Rookie of the Year, among other accolades.

In honor of Shelton’s birthday, Rodman took to social media and shared a post celebrating him. She also shared a loving message for him.
“To the most beautiful soul I’ve ever met. Happy birthday Benny! You’ve changed me, loving me the way I never knew someone could. Even with your lifestyle you make me a priority every chance you get and I’ll always be grateful for every minute you love me. You inspire me everyday, and you always keep a smile on my face. Life with you is a dream. I love you NL ❤️ ,” Rodman posted.

Reacting to Rodman’s post, a troll commented, asking how to remove posts featuring Shelton and Rodman from their feed.
“How do I get this off my feed?” the troll commented.
In response, the soccer player clapped back at the troll by simply suggesting that they should “scroll” past the posts featuring them.
“@dnickeson scroll 😊,” Rodman commented.

On the tennis side, Shelton most recently competed in the 2025 Shanghai Masters. He was seeded sixth in the tournament and began his campaign in the second round after receiving a bye in the first round. In his opening match, he faced David Goffin but lost with a score of 2-6, 4-6.

Following the conclusion of his campaign at the 2025 Shanghai Masters, Shelton is expected to compete next at the 2025 Swiss Indoors, which will take place from October 20 to October 26, 2025. The matches in the tournament will be played on indoor hard courts at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland.
In addition to Shelton, other players expected to participate in the ATP 500 hard-court tournament in Basel include Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, Arthur Fils, Taylor Fritz, Denis Shapovalov, Jakub Menšík, and João Fonseca, among others.
In 2024, Shelton was seeded sixth at the Swiss Indoors, and he began his campaign by defeating Tomás Martín Etcheverry in the first round, winning with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-4. He then eliminated wild card entry Stan Wawrinka in the second round, winning 7-6(2), 7-5.
In the quarterfinals, the World No. 6 triumphed over the top seed, Andrey Rublev, with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-4, and then secured his place in the final by defeating the seventh seed, Fils, with a score of 6-3, 7-6(9) in the semifinals. Ultimately, in the final, he finished as the runner-up to Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, losing 4-6, 6-7(4).
