A Look at the Men’s Entry List for the 2026 Australian Open

As the new season gets underway, fans eagerly look ahead to the year’s first Grand Slam, traditionally staged in Melbourne. The official entry lists have now confirmed that several big names from the tour will be in action at Melbourne Park this January.

One of the key names to watch on the men’s entry list is Spanish superstar and world No. 1 Alcaraz, who also tops the lineup. Alcaraz is yet to move beyond the quarterfinal stage at Melbourne Park and could face stiff competition from world No. 2 and arch-rival Jannik Sinner, who sits second on the list and enters as a two-time defending champion. Alcaraz, meanwhile, will be eyeing a career Grand Slam in Melbourne.

Another standout name on the men’s list is Serbian star Novak Djokovic, a 10-time Australian Open champion who will be chasing his 25th Grand Slam title in January. Other notable entrants from the ATP Tour include Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, Félix Auger-Aliassime, Jack Draper, and Lorenzo Musetti.

Zhizhen Zhang, Juncheng Shang, Emil Ruusuvuori, and Thanasi Kokkinakis have secured spots via protected rankings, while home favorite James Duckworth, Patrick Kypson, and Yunchaokete Bu enter as wildcards.

It’s worth noting that Danish star and world No. 15 Holger Rune will miss the 2026 Australian Open as he continues to recover from a serious leg injury sustained late in the 2025 season.

The women’s field is looking equally competitive, with world No. 1 Sabalenka headlining it. The Belarusian is familiar with the conditions and has won the tournament twice before, as well as finishing as a runner-up last year. Defending champion Madison Keys is another standout name on the list.
