World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka recently reunited with her close friend and WTA peer Paula Badosa and donned chic earrings from the latter’s jewelry brand, Aces. Both players are currently in Berlin for the Berlin Tennis Open, a lead-up tournament to the Wimbledon Championships.

Sabalenka enters the grass-court swing on the back of a phenomenal run on clay. The Belarusian finished as a finalist in Stuttgart, won in Madrid, and then had a quarterfinal finish in Rome. She lived up to expectations at the 2025 French Open, reaching the final. However, despite winning the first set, Sabalenka suffered a heartbreaking defeat to eventual champion Coco Gauff.
Meanwhile, this season has been equally concerning for Badosa, with consistent back injuries hampering her run. The 27-year-old missed most of the clay-court season but returned to reach the quarterfinals at the Internationaux de Strasbourg, followed by a third-round exit at Roland Garros.
Sabalenka took a few days off after her grueling French Open campaign as she enjoyed a getaway with her friends in Greece. Upon arriving in Berlin ahead of the WTA 500 event, the Belarusian reunited with her close friend Badosa. The duo posed for a selfie, both donning Aces’ gold tennis racket-shaped earrings.

Badosa shared another story featuring World No. 6 Mirra Andreeva, with both of them wearing the same earrings.
“Matchy matchy also with practice partner today @mirraandreeva,” she captioned.
Badosa ventured into business with the launch of her jewelry brand, offering a wide range of collections including Vida, Aura, and Alma. Notably, Andreeva also donned the tennis racket earrings during her French Open campaign.
Sabalenka Enjoyed a Warm Welcome in Berlin Ahead of Her WTA 500 Event Participation
Sabalenka was all smiles upon arriving in the German capital as she received a warm welcome from tournament director Markus Zoecke, who gifted her a bouquet. It’s great to have you here,” Zoecke told the World No. 1. All of this was captured in a clip shared by the tournament’s official Instagram handle.
“Hi @arynasabalenka 👋🏼 The World No. 1 just arrived at the @waldorfastoriaberlin – welcomed by tournament director Markus Zoecke,” they captioned the post.

Sabalenka had arrived quite early in Berlin to adapt to the conditions and started practicing for the WTA 500 event. The 27-year-old enters the tournament as the top seed with the sole aim of winning, in what could be a remarkable lead-up to the London Major.
Other top names participating in the event would be the newly crowned French Open champion Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Zheng Qinwen, Andreeva, and Jasmine Paolini.
