“This random dude can actually hit.”

Aryna Sabalenka Will Enter Wimbledon Following her SF Exit in Berlin
Wimbledon will be Sabalenka’s second grass-court tournament of the 2025 season. The World No. 1 played her first event on the surface at the Berlin Tennis Open and received a bye to the second round.
Here, the Belarusian ousted Rebeka Masarova 6-2, 7-6(6) to set up a quarterfinal clash with Elena Rybakina. Sabalenka and the Kazakh played out a thrilling encounter, which the World No. 1 narrowly won 7-6(6), 3-6, 7-6(6) to book her place in the semifinals.
The 27-year-old faced 2023 Wimbledon champion Markéta Vondroušová in the final four and suffered a 2-6, 4-6 defeat.
Sabalenka will compete at Wimbledon for the sixth time in her career, with her best performance was reaching the semifinals in 2021 and 2023, which was her most recent appearance at the tournament. The Belarusian did not compete in last year’s edition of the grass-court Major due to a shoulder injury.
Sabalenka has had a pretty good 2025 season so far, having won 42 out of 50 matches so far, with three titles to her name. The 27-year-old won two WTA 1000 titles in Miami and Madrid while also triumphing at the Brisbane International. She also reached the finals of both Grand Slams so far this year, losing to Madison Keys at the Australian Open, and to Coco Gauff at the French Open.
