Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias Have Now Added to Their Pack

The love story between Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias began over two decades ago, back in 2001. Back then, the Russian was enjoying her most significant period of success as a professional tennis player as she broke into the Top 10 on the WTA Rankings.

The two met on the shooting sets of Iglesias’ music video, ‘Escape’, and have since been by each other’s side all these years. The couple often shares adorable pictures of their family on social media, but has generally managed to avoid the intense glare of the media. And now, they have let fans in on another heartwarming addition to their family.

Both welcomed their new baby and shared the news by posting the same message on Instagram. The caption for the post read, “My Sunshine 12.17.2025”, which tells us that the baby was born on December 17.

The baby can be seen wrapped in a blanket, having a nap, with a toy bear by its head.

Kournikova did not win any singles titles during her tennis career, but reached Tour-level finals, including WTA 1000 events in Miami and Charleston.

She had two excellent campaigns at Grand Slams, reaching the semifinal of the 1997 Wimbledon Championships, where she lost to eventual champion Martina Hingis. She also reached the quarterfinal of the 2001 Australian Open, losing to Lindsay Davenport.

However, it was in the doubles arena where Kournikova really flourished, reaching the No.1 ranking. She won 16 Tour-level doubles titles and formed an excellent partnership with Martina Hingis.

The success of the pair is evident in their results, which include eleven titles overall, two Grand Slam titles, two WTA Finals, and four WTA-1000 titles. Kournikova was also a Grand Slam champion in mixed doubles, winning the 1999 Wimbledon title along with Jonas Björkman.

Alas, injuries derailed what could have been even a greater career, as a “herniated disc” injury forced her to draw curtains on her on-court journey in 2003. She has played charity and exhibition events since then and has been engaged in some television work.

Such was her fame during her playing days that she was the most popular athlete; people searched for her on the Internet, as Google’s search engine listed her name as the most searched for athlete in 2001.
