Alexander Zverev beamed with pride as he introduced his daughter, Mayla, to some of European soccer’s biggest names in a memorable family moment in Munich. The German tennis star, in the middle of his title defense at the 2026 BMW Open, took time away from the clay courts to visit Bayern Munich’s home ground and share the experience with his five-year-old.
Alexander Zverev’s Memorable Bayern Munich Visit During His BMW Open Campaign
The visit came during a busy stretch for Zverev, who has been competing on home soil while maintaining his long-standing connection with Bayern Munich. As a dedicated, lifelong supporter of the club, Zverev attended the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, April 15, to witness Bayern’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals.
Rather than experiencing the occasion alone, he made it a family outing, bringing along his daughter, Mayla, and his brother’s children. After the final whistle, the group was invited into the Bayern locker room, where players took time to greet the children and pose for photos.
In a clip shared on Instagram, Zverev could be seen grinning ear to ear as he introduces his daughter, Mayla, to soccer stars such as Harry Kane, Leon Goretzka, and Joshua Kimmich in Munich.
The visit clearly energized Zverev, who turned around the very next morning to compete at his own tournament. On Thursday, April 16, he walked onto the clay courts at the MTTC Iphitos for his warm-up wearing a Bayern Munich home jersey featuring the name of Michael Olise (No. 17), who had scored the winning goal the night before.

This interaction highlights the deep connection Zverev has with his home city and the club. While he was there as a fan, the support was mutual, as Bayern stars Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry were spotted in the stands on Thursday to cheer Zverev on during his match.

How Has Mayla Become a Constant Presence in Zverev’s Tennis Journey?
Mayla, born in March 2021, is the daughter of Zverev and his former partner Brenda Patea. While their relationship ended prior to her birth and was initially marked by public disputes over custody and involvement, things have since progressed toward a more cooperative co-parenting arrangement.
She has become a familiar face on tour in recent months, often traveling with the Zverev family and attending events like the Australian Open and the Mexican Open in Acapulco, usually seen in the player’s box with Zverev’s mother, Irina Zvereva.
Looking ahead, Zverev has advanced to the semifinals in Munich for the fifth time, where he faces fourth seed Flavio Cobolli. This is going to be their third meeting on the ATP Tour, with the German holding a 2-0 lead in their head-to-head record. The winner of this match faces either Slovakian qualifier Alex MolÄŤan or second seed Ben Shelton in the championship match.
