Alexander Zverev drew laughter during a recent ATP Hamburg Open promo after cheekily admitting that he’s seen fellow pro Félix Auger-Aliassime naked “plenty of times.” The German star made the light-hearted remark while taking part in a “Two Truths and a Lie” challenge.
He also confidently debunked a tattoo claim about the Canadian by referencing their time together in locker rooms.
Alexander Zverev and Félix Auger-Aliassime Have Met Eight Times on the ATP Tour
Zverev and Auger-Aliassime are competing at the ATP 500 event in Hamburg, Germany. Both players have advanced to the second round. Zverev, who won the title last year and reached the final again in 2024, is making his eighth appearance at his home tournament.
The top-seeded wildcard opened his campaign with a 6-1, 7-6(5) win over American qualifier Aleksandar Kovacevic and will face France’s Alexandre Müller next. Meanwhile, Auger-Aliassime, seeded sixth, breezed past Germany’s Daniel Altmaier 6-3, 6-3 and is set to face Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the second round.
As part of a promotional segment for the tournament, Zverev was invited to guess which of three unusual statements about Auger-Aliassime was false. The statements were: “My eyesight is so bad that growing up I thought it was normal to not be able to see the face of your opponent,” “I have a tattoo of three tennis balls that nobody on tour knows about,” and “I didn’t speak English until I was 12 years old.”
Without hesitation, Zverev picked the second one, the tattoo, as the lie. When asked to explain his reasoning, the 28-year-old grinned and replied:
“Do you want me to explain it? I have seen him naked plenty of times in the locker room. So I didn’t see any tattoos there.”

Alexander Zverev Offers Candid Assessment of His Form Ahead of French Open
Alexander Zverev gave a candid update on his form ahead of the 2025 French Open, where he hopes to redeem himself after last year’s five-set final loss to Carlos Alcaraz. Speaking at the BMW Open in Munich, the German admitted to a recent slump but expressed confidence ahead of the European clay season.
“Of course, I haven’t played particularly well. I lost to a lot of guys that I should have beaten,” he admitted. “I still believe I can play well on the big stage. I mean, I played in the Australian Open final three months ago. That said, I haven’t forgotten how to do it. But yes, the last few weeks have been a bit more difficult, but I’m still very confident that I will play well now and hopefully in the next few weeks,” Alexander Zverev said.
“I think I will get out of my phase soon, too. I feel like I’m starting to play better and better. I think I need to win one or two close matches. And I still have faith in myself. I still have faith in myself that I will start playing really good tennis by the time Paris comes around and that Paris will still be the main focus,” he concluded.
