How Did Alexander Zverev and Sophia Thomalla Document Their Bond?

Thomalla recently shared an endearing selfie with the World No. 3 on her Instagram story. The image highlighted their close bond and impeccable fashion sense, with the couple radiating grace in coordinated all-black ensembles.

While Zverev stunned in a black shirt layered with a sleek black jacket, Thomalla complemented him flawlessly in a chic black turtleneck paired with a matching black coat. Going by the story, the elegant mirror selfie seemed to have been taken in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

As noted, Zverev and Thomalla often offer glimpses of their time together online, and they did just that before the 2025 US Open. The lively pair graced the Taste of Tennis, an event in Manhattan that gathered tennis stars, acclaimed chefs, food aficionados, and celebrities for a culinary celebration.

While Zverev is widely recognized for his dominance on the court, Thomalla has also carved out her path to fame. She is a celebrated actress, model, and television personality in Germany, having begun her television career at just 18.

How Does Sophia Thomalla’s Presence Help Alexander Zverev Elevate His Game?

While performance and momentum on the court are vital, the support of loved ones often drives an athlete forward. For Zverev, that anchor is Thomalla, whose steadfast support, he believes, helps him elevate his game. The German revealed this in an interview with a prominent magazine in his home country.

“I think for tennis players it is always very important who you have next to you. Sophia is someone who gives me peace and security. I play extremely well with her behind me and I hope that will continue to be the case next year and maybe even better. I haven’t achieved all of my goals yet,” he said.

Zverev’s latest outing on the tennis circuit was during the 2025 North American hard-court swing. Despite a strong run in the lead-up tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati, Zverev could not carry that momentum into the US Open at Flushing Meadows. The World No. 3 bowed out of the season’s final Major after falling to 25th seed and eventual semifinalist Felix Auger-Aliassime in the third round.

The German hasn’t been seen on the court since, and is slated to represent Team Europe alongside Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune in the forthcoming Laver Cup.
