How Did Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian Build Their Family?

Williams first met her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, in 2015 at a hotel in Rome when the former World No. 1 was in the city for the Italian Open. They got engaged a year later in 2016 and welcomed their first daughter, Olympia, on September 1, 2017.

Williams and Ohanian married two months later, on November 16, 2017, at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. They welcomed their second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, in August 2023.

Williams and Ohanian frequently share special moments with their daughters on social media. The tech entrepreneur often posts pictures and videos of the activities he enjoys with Olympia and Adira.

Ohanian and his seven-year-old daughter take part in various hobbies together, including golfing, baking, making pancakes, fishing, playing video games, and collecting sports memorabilia.

Recently, a series of pictures were shared on Adira’s social media page, showing her playing with a mini golf set. In the caption, it was mentioned that she is ready to keep up with her “sissy,” Olympia, in golf.

“Gotta keep up with sissy,” the caption read.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Ohanian spoke about Olympia’s love for golf.

“I do think she’s a mix of both creative and athletic right now. Mini golf was her thing a year or so ago, and then we got her proper golfing lessons, and she’s loved it. On the creative side, she loves to dance. Maybe that’s where she’ll land — somewhere in the creative end and athletic … Like any parent, we just want her to have fun, and we’re fortunate enough to be able to expose her to anything she could be interested in,” Ohanian said.

Beyond personal recreation, Williams and Ohanian have invested in golf as a business. Williams, Ohanian, and Venus Williams are co-owners of the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC). The LAGC is part of Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL), which was founded by legendary golfers Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in partnership with the PGA Tour.

In addition to golf, Williams, Ohanian, and Olympia are co-owners of the Angel City Football Club, a professional women’s soccer team based in Los Angeles, California, that competes in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
