Temple Pro Day Results

While Temple didn’t have a lot of household names on hand at this year’s pro day, a few members of the group were able to stand out during the testing phase.

Temple defensive end Manny Walker measured in at 6’3″ and 239 pounds. He was asked to drop into coverage in positional drills, as his size will probably force him to transition to linebacker at the next level.

Walker’s field testing also put him in line for a position switch. Walker posted a 10’4″ broad jump and a 34-inch vertical jump. Pro Football Network, along with media members from three local outlets, timed Walker’s 40-yard dash at 4.55 seconds and his three-cone drill at 7.08 seconds.

Those are strong numbers for Walker, who could transition to SAM linebacker after posting 22 tackles (2.5 for loss), 2 interceptions, a sack, and a forced fumble last season.

Amir Tyler has up-and-down day

Following the workout, safety Amir Tyler told the media group that he ran a 4.6-second 40-yard dash, which was lower than what he had been running in training for the pro day. Taylor said he was hoping to get another shot at running for teams as he was running in the 4.4 and 4.5 range while preparing for the pro day.

Tyler was probably the most high-profile prospect at the workout for Temple. While his 40 time wasn’t spectacular, he did have an impressive vertical jump of 38 inches. He also had a broad jump of 10’1″, and he bench-pressed 16 reps of 225 lbs.

During his four seasons at Temple, Tyler produced 158 tackles (8 for loss), 12 pass breakups, and a forced fumble.
