With the Cavaliers looking to avoid falling behind 3-0, Kelce is hoping that he’s their lucky charm. The sports world took to social media to react to Kelce’s appearance at the Eastern Conference Finals and one viral moment involving NBA broadcasters Mike Breen and Richard Jefferson.
World Reacts to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Courtside
The Knicks struck first building an early lead, but a flurry of Cleveland points got the crowd into it. Kelce was amped up after a huge bucket and caught the attention of the broadcast team.
“Travis Kelce and his girlfriend loving it!” said Jefferson, the ex-NBA player, on the broadcast. At a different point, the cameras cut to the power couple and Breen referred to them as “Travis Kelce and his fiancée.”

It seemed odd that the broadcast failed to mention Swift by name on two separate occasions. Jefferson’s instance was worse, as he also mistakenly referred to Swift as Kelce’s “girlfriend” instead of fiancée. The sports world took notice, calling out Breen and Jefferson and urging them to put some respect on Swift’s name.

The Swifties took note of how the broadcasters referred to Swift. Although, it could have been tongue-in-cheek by Breen, people online weren’t happy.

Others reacted with more grace than the Swifties. Swift has garnered plenty of attention for how she was covered when she attended Kelce’s NFL games, so the NBA broadcast is doing it differently.
“The broadcast announcers did not even drop Taylors name directly, they just mentioned Travis and his fiancee. Looks like the entire sports television world has finally learned how to play it safe on the internet,” said a social media personality.

The commentators have done it the entire game and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
While Kelce is focused on rooting on the Cavs alongside Swift, the Swifties and the sports world are taking shots at the broadcast left and right.
