Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Age Difference: Looking At the Age Gap Between the Pop Star and Chiefs TE

How old are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, and what is their age difference? Let's examine each superstar's birthday.

Global icon Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce are a power couple that have captured the world’s attention. Swift is a billionaire who’s coming off her record-breaking “Eras Tour,” and Kelce has helped the Chiefs win back-to-back Super Bowls while hosting one of the most successful podcasts and branching out into acting.

With Swift and Kelce recently getting engaged, it begs the question: how old are Swift and Kelce, and what is their age difference?

Travis Kelce Is Slightly Older Than Taylor Swift

Kelce was born on Oct. 5, 1989, in Westlake, Ohio, meaning he is 35 years old. Swift was born on Dec. 13, 1989, in West Reading, Pa., meaning she is 35 years old as well.

Taylor is just 69 days younger than Travis, so the age gap is a little over two months.

In 2023, Swift celebrated her birthday in New York alongside some of her closest friends, including Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, and Sabrina Carpenter. Unfortunately, Kelce couldn’t attend the party last year because he had practice.

However, last year, Kelce didn’t let the Chiefs’ busy schedule prevent him from giving Swift an unforgettable birthday. Even though Kansas City had a road game against the Cleveland Browns two days after Swift’s birthday, Kelce prioritized his fiancée.

“This is a milestone birthday for Taylor, so he wants to make it extra special,” someone close to the couple told Page Six. “Travis has only let a few of those closest to him know what he has in store for Taylor because he doesn’t want to ruin any surprises.”

It turns out Kelce had been planning this out for a while.

“[Kelce has] been shopping for Christmas and birthday gifts for Taylor for quite a while now,” the insider said. “[He’s] not the type to leave these things to the last minute, so he’s been picking up items here and there for the past several months whenever he has a chance.

“Some of the gifts are things Taylor has casually mentioned she would like. Travis makes sure to always listen even when Taylor doesn’t realize he is.”

Many fans are hoping that Kelce will pop the question to the pop star.

Recently, when Kelce congratulated Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and actor Hailee Steinfeld on their engagement, Swifties responded to Kelce’s comment by saying things like “your move” and “you’re next!”

Swift and Kelce’s Date Rules Revealed

Since Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce started dating singer Taylor Swift, his life has changed drastically. Once he went from Chiefs tight end to the world’s most famous boyfriend, Kelce’s fame and popularity skyrocketed overnight.
Kelce, who is notorious for being one of the friendliest guys in the NFL, had to make some lifestyle changes when he started dating Swift.

Swift and Kelce can reportedly no longer go on public dates, which is understandable because of how famous they are and the amount of attention they attract.

Prior to dating Swift, Kelce was known for mingling with other restaurant guests and staff whenever he would go out to eat. But since he started dating Swift, he has had to make some adjustments. The two have some specific date night rules that they always follow.

“Taylor’s security calls the restaurants beforehand to request a private room for the couple,” a source told The U.S. Sun.

“They request workers not serving them in the private room to refrain from interacting with them or asking for photos to avoid drawing attention. Before Travis began bringing Taylor to the Kansas City spots, he would socialize more with staff and guests of the restaurants.”

That’s not the only thing that has changed with the couple. Kelce was accused of being out of shape while he was on tour with Swift last summer.

There have been many rumors about the upcoming season being Kelce’s last in the NFL, and his engagement to Swift may have just fueled speculation that the Chiefs star is ready to walk away from football.

Given the way the Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl last season, it wouldn’t have been an ideal moment for Kelce to retire.

“Hopefully he’ll go out a champion,” Chiefs GM Brett Veach said at the NFL combine about Kelce, per ESPN. “Hopefully, he has a magical season to end a magical career.”

Chiefs-Chargers Week 1 Preview

The division rivalry between the Chiefs and Chargers should be a treat for the São Paulo audience, as the teams have routinely produced competitive games in recent years.

For both teams, it starts at quarterback. Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes remains one of the league’s best, having already won three Super Bowls before turning 30.

Meanwhile, Justin Herbert has the stats to rank among the game’s top passers but has yet to win a playoff game in his five-year career. He’ll be looking to change that narrative this season, starting with a statement against the Chiefs.

Kansas City’s passing attack will look similar to last season, with wideouts Xavier Worthy and JuJu Smith-Schuster complementing All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce. Their top receiver, Rashee Rice, is out against the Chargers while serving a suspension.

Los Angeles’ receiving corps isn’t much better, though second-year receiver Ladd McConkey is back after an impressive rookie season in which he caught 82 passes for 1,149 yards and seven touchdowns. He’ll be Herbert’s No. 1 target.

Per our metrics, the Chargers will have an upper hand defensively. Coordinator Jesse Minter leads a unit that flies to the ball, anchored by pass rusher Khalil Mack and safety Derwin James.

The Chiefs’ defense graded out at a C last season but will look to improve behind defensive tackle Chris Jones and cornerback Trent McDuffie. Both are among the best at their positions, but need help from a young, unproven supporting cast.

As for the outcome, the Chiefs simply have the Chargers’ number. Los Angeles usually puts up a fight but falls short in the end. That shouldn’t change, even in Week 1 on South American soil.

Prediction: Chiefs 24, Chargers 20
