‘Such a Joke’ — Swifties Furious After NFL Picks Bad Bunny Over Taylor Swift for Super Bowl Halftime Show

After the NFL announced Bad Bunny would headline the Super Bowl 60 halftime show, Swifties were mad after Taylor Swift was snubbed.

For years, the idea of a Taylor Swift Super Bowl halftime show has been hotly discussed as the global music superstar continues to redefine what success means for concerts and tours.

After the league and the 14-time Grammy Award-winning artists couldn’t agree on terms for a show, the NFL was forced to find another artist. The league and music label Roc Nation announced Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl 60 halftime performer, and Swifties were not thrilled about the news.

Taylor Swift Fans Irate After the NFL Announces Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show

The NFL agreed that having Swift perform at the Super Bowl would be huge for the league, especially with how many fans she has brought to the sport due to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Unfortunately, the two sides could not agree because Swift wanted to retain ownership of the performance footage.

Given her public and long fight in the music industry to regain ownership of her masters, the demand makes sense regarding her career. Yet, it was a request the NFL could not honor and eventually led to Bad Bunny being chosen as the performer for the Super Bowl 60 halftime show.

Swifties were understandably let down by the league, with this fan saying, “They wanted Taylor Swift to do the Super Bowl, but she declined, so they went with Bad Bunny??? That’s such a joke and a downgrade. Like, why can’t they ever get any singer that’s not rappers…it’s not entertaining to watch rappers.”

Another fan highlighted the Swifties’ disappointment, replying to Adam Schefter’s post, “We asked for T Swift, and you gave us Bad Bunny.”

This fan pointed out how the selection didn’t seem to fit the demographic of NFL fans while also pointing out how the league dropped the ball with Swift posting, “We are really running out of superstars for the Super Bowl halftime show. BAD BUNNY? Really!?! Taylor Swift was right there.”

Many fans seem underwhelmed by the announcement, with plenty sharing they don’t really want to watch the halftime show. As this fan explained, “I have zero interest in seeing Bad Bunny performing at the Super Bowl; I would have rather had Taylor Swift.”

However, not every fan needed that many words to explain how they felt. This fan responded to the pop culture account Pop Base with a quick and simple message, saying, “Taylor Swift > Bad Bunny.”

No matter how Swifties feel, Bad Bunny will take the stage at halftime during Super Bowl 60, which will be played in San Francisco.

After the first four weeks of the current NFL season, teams such as the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and Green Bay Packers appear to be the strongest contenders to make the Super Bowl.
