Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts Reveals the 1 Legendary Eagles Player He Wishes He Had the Chance to Play With

Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts chooses one legendary Eagles player that he wishes he could have had the opportunity to share the field with.

Jalen Hurts and the Eagles are gearing up for another Super Bowl run and handling the pressure of being the team to beat. Until the new season begins, the Eagles can still bask in the glory of their February triumph. With becoming a champion, especially a Super Bowl MVP, Hurts has etched his name as an Eagles legend.

The Eagles have a rich history with legendary players, and Hurts was quizzed on which one he would have loved to share the field with.

Jalen Hurts’ Picks an Eagles Legend

Hurts was asked which Eagles legend he wishes he could have played with, and his choice was a fan favorite in Philly. He was able to share a field with Jason Kelce and Brandon Graham, who are both synonymous with the Eagles, but he wished he could have played with hard-hitting safety Brian Dawkins.

“Dawk. The passion, I love that in a defensive player because you feed off of that,” said Hurts on Dawkins.

Hurts strayed away from picking an offensive player who would have directly impacted his performance. Instead of looking for another weapon to get the ball to or a lineman to protect himself, Hurts felt Dawkins was the missing player he never got to play with.

Hurts is right; Dawkins always brought energy to the field daily. It is not a coincidence that Dawkins was one of the hardest-hitting safeties in the NFL, considering the energy he played with. Energy is infectious, and Dawkins had plenty of it.

Dawkins was more than just an energetic player, though. He could ball with the best of the best. With his name etched in history at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Dawkins was one of the best safeties to lace it up and one of the best Eagles ever. While never getting to call himself a Super Bowl champ, Dawkins racked up quite a resume.

Dawkins has nine Pro Bowls, four First-Team All-Pro appearances, 37 interceptions, and 1,147 combined tackles. Hurts wished that he could play with Dawkins, and Dawkins might be wishing the same, as he could have potentially earned the championship that eluded him throughout his career. Hurts may never reach the heights that Dawkins did in the prime of his career, but Hurts will be an Eagles legend, too.

Imagining a world where Dawkins gets added to the current Eagles roster would give teams nightmares. Dawkins would improve an already stacked roster and boost the Eagles in their quest to repeat. Fortunately, for other teams, this isn’t happening, and unfortunately for Hurts, he won’t be able to take the field with Dawkins.

It’s almost time for Hurts and the Eagles to return to work as training camp looms. Teams will have a target on their back as they are the team to beat. Teams will be out for revenge, and Hurts and the Eagles will have to rise to the occasion, once again, like they did in the Super Bowl.
